I am thinking of buying a new camara, a while ago Robert posted and recommended the Canon f90 or 95. I am not an expert, just love to take pictures and carry with me a handy camara. Any recommendations?
Probably go with the Sony Cybershot DSC-WX1, so I can use some spare memorie cards and the battery I have, it is US $ 264 on E-bay, not bad.

Like Ken said, there are a lot of very good cameras out there for you to choose from. I can definitely recommend the Panasonic Lumix line. No matter which one you choose, definitely invest in the largest memory card your camera will support (check the manual) and an extra rechargeable battery!

At present I'm looking for same. Will probably go with the Canon Powershot A 1200. Two things they have gone back to with this. Uses AA batteries rather than Lithium and has an Optical viewfinder. Very good for the novice. Staples has a special now for $8o.oo other retailers are $90.00 or more. Purchase whatever card you want. I'm going to wait a couple more weeks to see if the price drops further.
I'm a photographer, and own 5 Nikon DSLR's (of varying vintage), for work use (plus a bunch of old film cameras)... but I use a Lumix (think it's a ZS10 iirc) for my snapshot camera. They have great Leica lenses, and more importantly they have a zoom range that extends well into the wide range, which is difficult to find in compact digital cameras. Digicams are generally fine in the tele range... but wide angle is difficult due to the small image format of the sensors.
I have a Nikon D80, a Lumix DMC-LX5 ( Great camera), several Can point & shoots - they all have strong points and week points. Maingirl takes great photos with a Nikon D70.
Staples sends out $25 off of $75 purchase coupons to their email subscribers and/or if you google the Staple coupon someone might have an extra one.
The Canon S95 is by far the best compact camera I have ever owned.
