Anyone know for certain about pharmacies? The govt website seems to suggest that they will still be open and may offer late night delivery until 11 pm. The notice above seems to suggest that pharmacies will be closed to the public except for delivery. Which is it?

They will not be open for public entry, but can remain open for delivery service until 11pm.

Most people are aware that a vaccine injection does not give one immediate immunity. It takes 10 - 14 days to kick in. If Jane is exposed to Covid on Monday and gets a vaccine on Wednesday, Jane could very well be sick with Covid on Saturday or Sunday. The initial reaction would be to blame the vaccine for making Jane sick but that is not how it works. Jane got sick from being infected by another person before the vaccine had a chance to prep her immune system sufficiently to fight off the virus.

The science doesn’t support this spin:
Once the vaccinated emits an expected side effect ( which the subject did) it means the immune system has identified and started to produce the means to fight the weakened and defused infection.
This is just something we’ll be seeing more and more as these vaccines are implemented.

By your own and the source science, we would be seeing the same effects in the rather larger Sputnik V crowd of vaccinated people already.
Not happening, no third party reports of this at all anywhere you look.

I stand by my choice now more than ever.
Sputnik V is a great vaccine and we should be requesting it from our authorities.

We don’t need new cases of bell palsy or fatal allergic reactions to boot.

Much less ineffective vaccines 💉

Pharmacies, restaurants, and colmados will be closed all day, every day? That can't be right. The must be talking about deliveries only after the curfew hours. A colmado would never be able to deliver food to all those who need it.

Correct. Once the curfew begins.
You can enter any of these type of establishments before 5pm Mon-Fri, or 12noon Sat-Sun.....for the next 2 weeks (January 10th).
Following the curfew hour, it is delivery only until 11pm.
It is best to check ahead with the particular location you choose to frequent or utilize to double check what THEIR response may be.
Some places may close earlier than the stated curfew time.

I understand it to mean all restaurants, colmados and pharmacies are DELIVERY ONLY from Januay 1 until January 10. You cannot go to them and pick anything up is how I read it , you cannot enter them at all since it is DELIVERY ONLY all day. It clearly states they are CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC.

There's been other things that have been put out hastily only to be corrected later. I'll believe it when I see it spelled out clearly in writing. Imagine the chaos this will cause in supermarkets with their reduced hours if everyone in the barrios that would normally go to a colmado are now going to the supermarkets. You'd better stock up now. The shelves will be wiped out.

If that was true then what does 5 PM have to do with anything? Or 12 PM? Wouldn't the language then be CLOSED ALL DAY! DO NOT ENTER.
Delievies ONLY to your residence up to 11PM?

Sputnik V is the best candidate for the DR. It has been used since an early time over all others and has shown it continuously protects the ones vaccinated with it in Russia.

It’s developed using a secured long established vaccine 💉 adenovirus vector, much like all vaccines in our modern history. They introduce no changes into our DNA and more importantly, no extreme side effects like others to date.

It was developed at a Nobel laureates lab in Russia. Which has provided excellent emergency vaccines before of world importance, like Ebola and others.

You don’t need the two shots, as one shot alone can provide protection for at least 4 months. This is enough time to eliminate the hot zones and recurring infection in large populations.
After all the incubation period of Covid-19 is less than one month and only 6 days in the majority of cases.

Once the pandemic is eliminated locally, it’s only a matter of a strict inbound arrivals monitoring program (vaccinated passports) to keep any new breakout from taking root in the country.

Sputnik V is the ideal candidate based on this and based on mixing the jabs with others on a later term, to improve the odds.

Period.
Another bizarre, tone-deaf post. The fact of the matter is that you have no idea how effective the Russian vaccine is. How in the world do you trust the information come out of Russia, a country with an abysmal human rights record and no real freedom of speech to speak of? BTW, another Russian doctor working on a Covid vaccine just got stabbed and thrown out of a window.

"The fact of the matter is you have no idea" is correct since a Google search currently will not link you to something that will support the viewpoint of adequate testing. I'm very suspcious of anyone promoting strong opnions here without SUBSTANTIAL links to their data. There are a couple of other posters that do it daily. It's a joke and dangerous.

Johne it indeed says clearly that restaurants, colmados and pharmacies are CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC!. That is what CERRADOS AL PUBLICO means.

The other restrictions on when people can be out and about are completely independent of that!

The vaccine doesn't prevent the virus. Not at all. It just lessens symptoms. You can still get the virus and transmit it, according to our overlords. That's why you have to continue with the masks and social distancing. Apparently.

As far as poisoning with a tool that carries your name in it? Do you make Putin for an idiot?

Ever since the first case with the Spies in the Uk, even Germany had proven doubts of their claims.

These events are nothing more than a silent war to isolate Russia from the other countries.
We are not stupid as before...

The US has been using bogus claims to exit every other treaty it signed on nuclear weapons. This is what you do when you are preparing for War.

The prize is Russian landmass home to 30% of the world’s natural resources.

The DR has no voice in this game, but for the short term our best interest lies with Sputnik V.

Scientists determine the efficacy on established clinical trials.

The vaccine no seems to be accepted.
Russia's vaccine has 91.4 per cent efficacy from an analysis of more than 18,000 people, said a release on the Sputnik V website. The vaccine's efficacy rose to 95 per cent after 42 days.

"The data [is] compatible with the vaccine being reasonably effective," said Stephen Evans, professor of pharmacoepidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

"These results are consistent with what we see with other vaccines, because the really big message for global health scientists is that this disease [COVID-19] is able to be addressed by vaccines."

Ian Jones, a professor of virology at the University of Reading, concurs.

"I see no reason to doubt it [the results]," Jones told CBC News in an interview.

As to your assertions on Russia.
The history is written, and available to anyone.
Russia has isolated itself because of it's actions , which the EU cannot ignore.
There have to be consequences.
It would be profitable if the EU and Russia could become partners with normalized relations.
Germany has negotiated any times its Putin.
Russia is not a member of the G8 without reason, so e have the G7.

Putin is a despot stying in power and control of the Russian government by changing the constitution, obviously not for the benefit of the Russian Federation.

Putin approves changes allowing him to stay in power until 2036

China has approved the removal of the two-term limit on the presidency, effectively allowing Xi Jinping to remain in power for life.

The goals of the sanctions regime and its impact on regional and global architecture

The US and the EU began imposing economic sanctions on Russia after President Vladimir Putin signed a treaty annexing Crimea from Ukraine in March 2014. They later increased measures to protest Russia’s involvement in the conflict in Eastern Ukraine. The aim of the sanctions was to make Russia comply with the Minsk ceasefire accord signed with Ukraine in February 2014 and to force its economy. The reasons for strengthening and continuing the sanctions regime have dramatically changed since 2014, moving away pressuring Russia to de-occupy Crimea and cease its involvement in the fighting in eastern Ukraine.

Foreign ministers meeting in Luxembourg agreed to sanctions proposals made last week by France and Germany, which said Russia was responsible for the poisoning of Navalny with Novichok, the chemical weapon also used in a 2018 attack on a Russian defector in England.

The ministers also said they were ready to sanction Belarus leader Alexander Lukashenko, as the bloc seeks to step up pressure over his regime's crackdown on protesters.

Actions and facts supersede opinions.
At least you do see the facts in the US actions, current and past in their fight for world dominance....her Empire lost.the dream may be fading and another Empire lost. The Romans learned, the UK is still clinging to illusions of past grandeur, but reality has intruded.

Yes,
It would be great if the DR could secure Sputnik V at a cost effective price and start mass immunizations for all Dominicans ASAP.
