My reply was in regards to a comment that said who was doing jogging/exercise with a mask on.

My N95s were bought off eBay well early on (early March) bought 20 for 40 dollars. I also bought locally some surgical masks at 25 pesos when they were still cheap. They all go through a cleaning process involving hydrogen peroxide, UV-C light, sun, and staying put for 5 days in a breathable paper bag or paper box.

There are still N95 masks being sold on eBay for about 5 dollars apiece, still cheaper than local price here.
I have also used the gym sock method. Clean ones of course

Imagine my predicament with the COVID-19, once a year I get my allergic bronchitis attack where I cough excessively, constantly.
Just now got over it, but was coughing almost non-stop for a month and a half.

I had to fill my mouth with strong cough suppressors in order to do the shopping for my family of 8 here.

Scared the "hell" out of me, worrying if I coughed around the other shoppers.
No telling how they would have reacted.
I walked to the super market a few days ago and bought one of those small packets of peanuts with lemon taste ( through the wonder of chemistry). One of the peanuts went down the wrong way so I walked around until the coughing cleared.

When I got to the super there was a line but the manager waved me in front of them. I gave him a grateful nod. I hope it didn't grate on the folks in line.

Ok folks you knew it wouldn't be long. I think Cao predicted this the other day. Now, your favorite save Encuentro die hards are back to voice the gringos with rights movement. They are not happy with the Wuhan Waldorf going up in town! They will send their videos apparently to Major General Ney Aldrin Bautista himself! You too can get your video in

If you look kinda like these folks, you too can upload Your video today.

I put my Chinese made, 3-ply surgical masks through the washer and dryer. To my surprise, they came out usable, very much intact. The box says single use. I'm assuming that they are sterilized by the heat in the dryer and the clorox added to the washer.

I have been getting this allergy attack every year for at least 50 years.
Many times doctors have given me x-rays, never showed any problems.

Many, many years ago there was a medication I took that stopped it in ONE day, they stopped making it.
One pharmacist even tried to duplicate it for me, but it did not work.

I have had severe Spring allergy for many years. The over-the-counter drug cocktail that works for me are anti-histamine nasal spray, eye drops, and cetirizine HCL tablets. It's banned as performance enhancing at professional sporting matches. I noticed that my energy level has been higher while taking the meds.

What these "gringos with rights" missed, is that they are not in Florida. It's amazing that they still don't get that under the national emergency, both the military and PN have "extraordinary" powers to intercede basically in any situation they can say has to do with the virus. Whether the gringos with rights agree or not. The cop was "rude" to him lol. Please get on your ferry flight!

I've never heard of the Costa Liza Beach Resort, so I had to check. It closed down about 20 years ago. It's now known as the Centro de Formacion y Capatacion - about 100 yards west of Calle Motocross. It's also been closed for a long time.

The detergent damages the filtration layer. Same as heat over 90 degrees C. Best heat is 70 degrees C for 30 minutes.

I also use the same rag I hold the pots with when I'm cooking. This rag is approved by Dominican authorities. Its multipurpose functionality includes dusting, wiping various surfaces like plastic colmado chairs and cleaning the fridge and the kids' faces. All you do it hold it up to your face when you see a chismoso.

On the subject of remittances: I spoke to an agent face to face today at a Caribe Express office in NY today. I asked if remittances lately were down, up or the same. His answer was "The same and I don't see anything other than that in the future after this crisis is over.
