My reference to timing actually had to do with the fortunate stroke of serendipity that I was able to be tested once again this morning, shortly after your posting #4732 earlier on in the am.
I can relate to the frustration of attempting to provide for your employees, and encountering confusing obstacles.
Administrative red tape is one thing, sheer incompetence is quite another. I do not tolerate the latter.

45 more days, and it goes on and on. Abinader is putting himself in a big hole and he may not be able to get himself out.

45 days more of curfew - that takes us into high season, and I can hear the flights being canceled now.

They just announced last week the extension of FASE, Stay at Home and Pa ‘Ti until December 31.
Who's willing to bet this curfew will end before December 31st?
Sosua is in for a long slow recovery..
I'm currently in FL. No plans to return home (Santiago) until this nonsense ends.

The government just bought more pickups and motos to patrol during the curfew. I doubt that was done just to extend the curfew for another 45 days.
CV19 is here, there and everywhere to stay for quite a while. With a different strain of CV19 being shown to have re-infected someone who had the first version and recovered, it could be a long time indeed.

Last time I spent a day at Playa Sosua first week in
July I'd say about half of the businesses around

Exactly which is why, CLAIMING, all these deaths are "from" Covid helps perpetuate the excuse for the lock downs. The "Pandemic" scare.

The DR needs to follow up on the Ivermectin studies from Australia. If that drug or a combination actually works, it would be cheap and quick to treat all the sick in this country. Good for the people, good for the hospitals and good for tourism. We are all craving an effective treatment if we can't have a vaccine. The DR needs to put in the scientific work to validate if Ivermectin is the solution.

Yeah but if people get sick and all they need to do is see a doctor who prescribes the medicine and explains how and when to take each tablet and most people get better that's a good thing even if you have to do a course of treatment every 90 days. The goal is to keep the disease from becoming a serious infection requiring extended hospitalization and medical resources. If there is a effective treatment then it needs to be dolled out to the masses on a massive scale to curtail the bad effects the disease currently has on many who get sick. One would think if this ivermectin protocol has merit it would be getting a lot of media play around the world. I'm not hearing much at the moment. not nearly enough to convince me that ivermectin is the answer, at least not yet. I'd be happy if it was. More science is needed and more medical followup.

This is why it is so important to come up with an effective treatment for this disease just in case a vaccine isn't workable. If you can knock the virus down before it makes a person really sick, we are halfway home.
