Who put you in charge of the delineation of mod duties and behavior? Without them volunteering their time here, these forums would cease to exist.

I suggest you worry more about your own decorum. Participating here is a privilege and the mods can reject that permission at their discretion.

Exports from the region fell by 13 percent last year compared to the previous year, imports by 20 percent, according to a report presented on Friday by the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (Cepal). This made 2020 the worst year for foreign trade in the region since the financial crisis of 2008/2009. The World Trade Organization expects the movement of goods to decline by around nine percent worldwide.

The Cepal is also concerned that trade within the region has continued to decline for several years. "It is urgently necessary that we strengthen regional integration again in order to recover from the pandemic," said Cepal boss Alicia Bárcena. "We need better interaction between the various integration mechanisms in order to overcome the fragmentation of the regional market and achieve a sustainable and inclusive upswing."

- El proceso de vacunación será anunciado la próxima semana, se utilizará el padrón electoral de la JCE y los centros de votación para la realización.

- Nuevas medidas entraran en vigor a partir del miércoles 27 de enero de 2021 y hasta el lunes 8 de febrero de 2021 inclusive.

El Decreto 37-2021 establece lo siguiente:

1. Toque de queda continúa.

2. Todas las medidas dispuestas entraran en vigor a partir del 27 de enero de 2020 y hasta el lunes 8 de febrero de 2021 inclusive.

3. Se derogan los decretos anteriores al momento de entrada en vigor del presente decreto. 698-2020, 740-2020, 2-21 y 7-21.

4. Toque de queda se establece de lunes a viernes desde 7:00 p.m. hasta 5:00 a.m. sábados y domingo desde 5.00 pm a 5.00 am. Gracia de libre de circulación 3 horas adicionales todos los días, de lunes a viernes hasta las 10:00 pm, sábados y domingos hasta las 8:00 pm.
Opret y omsa deben ofrecer servicios durante el horario de gracia de libre circulación

6. Durante el horario se permite circulación de las personas dedicadas al servicio de salud, personas con emergencias medidas, personas dedicadas a laborales de seguridad privada, prensa y medios de comunicación, operadores de vehículos y técnicos de instituciones de energía, agua, telecomunicaciones y basura; distribución urbana e interurbana de mercancía, de insumos, y combustibles.

7. Empleados o contratista de restaurantes o colmados que sean deliverys podrán circular hasta las 11.p.m.; Pasajeros internacionales que se estén trasladados empleados del sector de transporte marítimo y aéreo; Empelados de empresas funerarias; empleados de hotelería, minerías y zona franca; empleados de opret y omsa.

8. Podrán utilizar espacios abiertos al aire libre para actividades que no impliquen aglomeración, parques y malecones.

9. Lugares dedicados a prácticas deportivas y ejercicios físicos como gimnasios podrán recibir clientes hasta el 60% de su capacidad total en cumplimiento de protocolo.

10. Consumos de alimentos y bebidas podrán recibir clientes podrán recibir clientes hasta el 60% de su capacidad total en cumplimiento de protocolo, sin exceder 6 personas por mesas.

11. Iglesias podrán celebrar 3 veces por semana en estricto cumplimiento de las protocolos y sin exceder el 60% de su capacidad.

12. Prohibidas las actividades y eventos masivos.

13. Regulación del turismo las actividades de turismo seguirán reguladas por el protocolo, prohibidos realizar fiestas y actividades de aglomeración.

14. Tendrán Vigilantes y supervisores para los lugares públicos.

15. Mascarillas obligatorio en lugares públicos y lugares privados de uso público, conjuntamente con el cumplimiento de protocolo.

16. Horario laboral del sector público será hasta las 3 p.m. y el 40% de empleados públicos continuara por el teletrabajo.

The president of the Society of Infectious Diseases, Rita Rojas, warned this Monday that the relaxation of measures to combat COVID-19 represent a danger in the face of the health system, which could collapse at any time.

"We are at a time where positivity is very high, where health personnel are exhausted, and we call for the awareness of each Dominican, which is an individual responsibility, which impacts collectively," explained the specialist.

Through a press conference, Rojas indicated that both the Dominican Medical College (CMD) and 53 specialized medical societies reject the action measures that the Government recently adopted, by allowing certain businesses such as restaurants, gyms, among others, to reopen operations, making monitoring of social distancing measures more difficult.

"In addition, the relaxation of the curfew as of this Wednesday does not seem a justified measure from the health point of view," he said.

The specialist explained that the latest flexibilization actions of the Government, at a time when the country receives the greatest negative impact as a result of this pandemic, does not seem well weighted from a medical point of view.

“From January 1 to date, the Ministry of Public Health is reporting more than a thousand cases daily. It would seem that these unprecedented statistics have not been taken into account, "he said.

And he added: "In addition, health personnel are dealing with a significant increase in levels of morbidity and mortality, which should be communicated to the population so that they become more aware of the situation."

In this sense, the Dominican Medical College and medical societies call on the population to, as of this Wednesday, the date on which the Government allows greater flexibility, take prudent measures and not use any closed public space, except in exceptional circumstances or necessity, as long as they are complying with the protocols.

"We insist on hand washing, on the use of a mask and physical distancing as necessary measures, until most of the population can receive the vaccine and immunity can be achieved," Rojas highlighted.

Similarly, he explained that until the country has the vaccine and the percentage of positivity decreases substantially, they do not recommend that control measures continue to be reduced.

Meanwhile, the president of the CMD, Waldo Ariel Suero, indicated that these measures were not consulted with this union and maintains that the Government gives in to pressure from businessmen.

“As you take these measurements with a positivity rate of 24%, when to change this type of measurement this has to go gradually. If you told me that the pandemic is under control, or that there is a flattening of the curve, or a 5% positivity rate, we would agree ”, said the doctor.

Based on the January bulletins, Suero said the pandemic is out of control and cases are increasing every day.

“We cannot agree with this type of measure. We understand that the Government has given in to business pressure, that it has thrown in the towel with the system, "he added.
