It's not bought. I own a regional TV station.
Does that makes you "press?"

They cannot arrest you for walking. Transit Law considers walking part of transit. Those in the know of laws can not be arrested. If you are, just talk to fiscal or judge.
You can transit between 7 and 9 PM.
Ley 63-17, Art. 5, Numeral 30
Peatón: persona que transita a pie en la vía pública.
Pedestrian: person that transits on foot on public road
You are transiting on foot. But you are transiting. Know the law and have the upper hand. Maybe walk with the copy of the transit law on you.

Glad I don't live in Santiago!Lived here long enough to understand how things move.
Thanks for posting the

but no thanks. Let a group of these Muppets catch
you on a main thoroughfare here in Santiago after 5pm
and you will have problems. The Ley(s) don't mean squat.

Excellent. It's not bought. I own a regional TV station.
Might be a good idea. Life is somewhat normal in Sosua. Today on the beach was great! Filet mignon with mushroom, bacon gravy at Mofongos. Excellent! A lot of people eating drinking, playing music, and having a good time.If this crap continues, I am seriously considering moving back
to Sosua.
Wooohhhh what a minute!!!If this crap continues, I am seriously considering moving back

wow.great news! I bounce all around St Domingo, Cotui and the N. Coast without one single scrape with any police. They must think I am the anchorman Ron Burgundy. It's not bought. I own a regional TV station.
where is here ??Here they will arrest you for anything they feel like, no reasons, no laws broken needed. Most LEO's can't even read, never mind comprehend or have the ability to know the existence of a law.
Does that makes you "press?"
Are "youtube live and twitch stream" both free? If so which is the best app to use for this purpose? Also what is the exact spanish phrasing that the Dominican police understand? Thank youI carry my Press credentials with me at all times
I also have youtube live and twitch stream ready to roll.
You know what's best to say? For YOUR protection and mine, this encounter will be recorded live to the cloud... Stressing out again (to them), it's especially for your protection and mine, and should any question arise in the future... What happens from then on, it's recorded on the clouds forever, even if the phone is in "accident".
Or the actor Ron Jeremywow.great news! I bounce all around St Domingo, Cotui and the N. Coast without one single scrape with any police. They must think I am the anchorman Ron Burgundy.
Keep guessing. You know it won't hit until the maximum pain can be inflicted and on the cusp of people thinking their freedoms might be restored.I guess the new curfew hours will be announced over the next couple of days
I don't expect that restrictions will be reduced until an arbitrary number of people are vaccinated and those vaccinations are still months away from starting. All the while keeping the focus on getting AI tourism back.Problem is the "2 hr transit" time is a grey area.
If they see you walking after 5pm they will harass and
possibly arrest you for violating curfew. It's already
happened to people I know. Many people living here,
including myself, don't own (by choice) a vehicle.
Then there are those who may need to take more than
one carrito to reach there destination. What happens if
you are stuck waiting on the second one to pass by and
the PN decide you are in violation?
Curfew needs to go and people need to have the freedom
to move without the constant threat of arrest.
We know what the restrictions are until January 10th. I am 99.999% sure new restrictions will be announced within the time between now and January 10th with history as my guide. This is, after all, the 11th SOE. A pattern has developed.Keep guessing. You know it won't hit until the maximum pain can be inflicted and on the cusp of people thinking their freedoms might be restored.
Perhaps they'll do a better job this go around.I guess the new curfew hours will be announced over the next couple of days
