i said many times that dominican law is flawed with their definition of a minor. alas, it is what it is. this minor is a willing prostitute and that fact should also be taken into account. community service and probation would be a sufficient punishment for taking that bite. suspended sentence at the most.

I think that if you had sex with a minor, you should be punished. It doesn't matter if you've been "seduced". If an undercover cop buys drugs from you, you'd be punished too. It doesn't matter if he looked you up. You'd be selling drugs to other people anyway. Same thing when someone tries to find a hit man to kill their "significant" other. You're an adult, no one is putting a gun to your head to force you to do these things! You'd do them anyways.

i agree, to a point. she and her mother might very well be the scum of the earth. however, if this guy Reyes did in fact bang her, his ass should go to jail. why can't he find a woman of the age of majority? what is with all these guys here who want 14 year old children? are they living in a state of perpetual adolescence?

We live in a world where children are sexualized at an early age. The DR is one of the worst offenders. When it happens once, you are looking at a situation where the individual on either side needs a change of mindset.

Keep in mind some expats love the DR because the country represents anarchy to them. You can do whatever you want, whenever you want to do it. Dominicans feel exactly the same way. No rules. Well, there are rules, but the weak, ineffective, and corrupt judicial system makes it so that you can get out of any entanglement with a fist full of pesos if they are handed to the right people.
And on a micro level, we have instances where the mothers are in cahoots in prostituting their own daughters. This woman is an absolute pig for what she did to her daughter, but regardless of how much in cahoots the daughter was in all this, she is still 15 years old.
Here is another point-Frank Reyes has no business even knowing these type of people. I run into this all the time. Young guys who say they are going to either the DR or Colombia bragging about how the're going to hang out with some drug dealer or other type of hustler who has a mansion and a yacht. Ask them if they know anyone from the professional ranks and they look at you like you're crazy.
Reyes may have been trolling the gutters for his fun, and because of that he put himself at risk for no reason. Discretion goes out the window with these types because barrio lowlives are harder to corral than a wild warthog covered in Vaseline. Whether you pay them off in exchange for silence or not, they'll still find a way to wreck things for you if you let the situation get out of control.
Someone from the upper classes, someone with something to lose (like a reputation) and a sense of shame, is more likely to keep things quiet.
Reyes should not have had these people on his farm to shovel chicken shiit, much less socializing with them.

the thing is that frank reyes lives off people like that. they buy his music, go to his concerts. he cannot keep them at a distance at all times. or else they will say he is too proud and forgot where he came from. he needs to interact with his fans. this will be a lesson for many, thou: don't ever communicate with people like that without witnesses and do not leave yourself exposed to any speculation.

You can acknowledge your fanbase and be close to them without having certain types of women visit you at your house for the purposes of engaging in adult leisure activities. Is signing autographs at public events and concerts not enough?
If you don't maintain your composure and state clear boundaries when around people of lesser abilities and accomplishments, you run the risk of losing respect. Some people from the lower classes love engaging in celebrity gossip when one of them slips up. They take pride that said celebrity is "just like us", meaning they are just as classless as they are.
This is why parents lose their kids, when they would rather be friends as opposed to parents. If you play around with a child and he slaps you in the face and laughs, he does so because the child has become convinced, from the interaction, that you are on the same level as he/she.
Reyes has access to a better and more discreet class of hoochie, and in greater amounts, than the average guy. The fact that he chose this path, if he indeed did so, dictates there is something wrong with his lifestyle choices. Dominican Republic as a society in general do not frown upon older men having sex with 15+ year old girls (it appears that 15 is the cut off age). That is why the general consensus on the street is that they are cueros and since he's great guy and a national jewel, they are the ones who are guilty.
