What reason would that be? The time given on the security camera when they all went to the beach was 5;50am. It's already starting to get light at that point. They have her clothes and I'm sure they have dogs already scouring the area. If he buried the body somewhere, they should find it soon.

I am certainly no expert of the DR legal system, but I would hope that there is a limit of some kind as to how long he can be "kept" without being formally charged with a crime. The strongest official wording I have seen thus far is he remains under surveillance and investigation. I realize the family has filed a formal complaint, but would that be more of a civil thing? They have no more basis for filing a criminal charge than do the police at this point.
