For sure. One persistent poster stated that the guy with her avoided giving a statement for 2 days. When he gave a statement the same day it happened. When asked multiple times for a link only silence. And there are "experts'" in everything. One said he can tell by looking at the girl that she does not drink alcohol. Of course the evidence showed she was drunk. The list goes on and on.
But the video posted took all the BS out of play.............
I was in fact incorrect re the timeline. So I am posting this for your review:
1. Time Riibe Woke Up: Riibe likely woke up between 8:54 and 9:55 AM, based on when he was seen returning to his room. This is 3–4 hours after he claims to have fallen asleep post-swim (around 5:55 AM or shortly after).
2. Delay in Reporting: Riibe did not report Konanki’s absence to anyone for at least 7 hours (8:54 AM to 4:00 PM), when her friends raised the alarm. His first known recounting of events appears to have been to police, after they initiated their investigation.
3. Inconsistencies in Riibe’s Account: Riibe provided multiple versions of what happened after the swim:
- He left her in knee-deep water.
- He saw her walking to get her clothes.
- He passed out and has no further memory.
These discrepancies, while not necessarily evidence of foul play, complicate the timeline and his reliability as a witness.
4. Lack of Initiative: Riibe’s failure to act upon waking—whether by searching for Konanki, notifying her friends, or alerting hotel staff—stands out as unusual. This inaction delayed the official response by several hours.
5. First Report to a Third Party: The earliest Riibe likely reported the incident was during police questioning, which began after 4:00 PM on March 6, possibly extending into the evening or the next day. This contrasts with the friends’ proactive report at 4:00 PM.
From the moment Joshua Steven Riibe woke up on the beach (likely between 8:54 and 9:55 AM on March 6, 2025) to when he reported the incident to a third party (likely during police questioning after 4:00 PM, possibly later), there is a gap of at least 7–10 hours. During this period, he returned to his room but took no apparent steps to alert anyone about Konanki’s disappearance. The first official report came from her friends at 4:00 PM, not Riibe, and his account only emerged under police scrutiny. This delay, combined with his shifting recollections, underscores the uncertainty in this case. While the official theory points to drowning, the lack of definitive evidence and Riibe’s inaction invite skepticism, leaving the full truth elusive as of March 12, 2025.
