My bet is Riibe isn't going anywhere tomorrow.
I’m not so sure. Without further evidence, what’s the point in keeping him here? He is a walking constant reminder of all the DR agencies inability to resolve the investigation and the DR AI industry problems. The DR agencies may be at the point where they are willing to cut their losses to end the widespread media damage and the expensive investigation.

How long do you hold him for if for example they never recover the body? Where would they go from there?

Today (March 16, 2025) we were contacted regarding the media presence in Rock Rapids. As a result, we interacted both with the media and with friends of the Riibe family.
Subsequent to that, these friends provided this included statement and requested our office release it so they could, due to the international media coverage, remain anonymous.
Our office is not normally a conduit to provide for the release of statements of private individuals or groups. However, in this case the sheriff has approved this due to the unique circumstances and to protect the privacy of residents.

With the medida de coerción they can hold him for a time up to 18 month while an investigation is taking place, but that would not be likely. Maybe because of the attention the case has drawn the judge would apply small increments say 30 to 90 days with a review at the end of the time period. All they need for preventative custody is reasonable doubt. Just like anywhere in business or law, it's how you negotiate or what you can convince the judge of.

That's kind of like what all friends and family say, especially of the guy who died a free man and then 3 years later his wife finds all the bodies buried in the back yard. He was such a nice guy, wouldn't hurt a fly, first one in church every Sunday 🙄. Prisons are filled with folks who probably think before they go to bed each night "gee, I really wish I hadn't done that"

My feeling is the authorities think it is too soon to release him and that it's still an ongoing investigation. If they release him now, I think they fear that they will be accused of not having made every possible effort to locate the girl. Considering the seriousness of the case here, I think they'll ask the judge for more time.

If they let him him go and run with the accidental drowning in rough waters story, now you have an entire global demographic saying "why would they build the world's largest stretch of AI resorts on unswimmable beaches". Know what? Turns out the dangerous rough waters story is a great alibi.

Exactly, just change "My feeling is" to "Common sense says"

Blue Collar Town in New Jersey
In the interview, I believe he said he saw a group at the bar and approached them, suggesting that was their first time to meet.

Thank you .. appreciate the Sourced Info . that clarifies it then
Apologies from my inaccurate detail of them chatting online prior .
, it was written on a Social Media Site and was stated as if it was fact.
Its as if people go out of their way to post inaccurate info .. and then I repeated it . my mistake

In My defense I posted about it much earlier in this thread , and no one said anything one way or the other about it ..
So I just assumed it was a known thing and part of the Story
My apologies again..

This however makes me think HE is even MORE Guilty now than ever .
Hope the FBI finds some Clues about this guys background ..

Was trying to say that Earlier ...
IF something went bad ..
Its a great Cover story .. Period.. all he had to know is that People did drown there recently ..
Why would you even need to look for another cover story .. its Perfect.
Especially IF I say again IF he did something to her, and buried her on Land ..
She will never be Found in the Water, IF she never was lost in Water.
Why is this theory so hard to understand for some.

The Motive ?
He admits to kissing her at that exact location where she disappears , or tried to.
What boy his Age would NOT try to take it further after that ?
How she reacted is the only question or variable
But 100% he was going for The Gold. And the Indian Culture is very conservative.
This , sadly is the exact moment where the Natalee Halloway Story and this one Converge.
