That is not the parent's lawyer in the video. He is only guessing that they were advised by a lawyer and he said in Virginia you have to wait 7 years before you request a death certificate. Just like all your other completely baseless speculation and assumptions, you don't KNOW if they were advised by a lawyer and, if so, the lawyer had zero idea of what Dominican law was. Why is this so hard to understand?
Where did I say that was the Parents Lawyer.. ?

Do me a favor, Please ignore my posts from now on .
I cant continue debating such absolute Drivel

We get it , you win
Case closed.. Your Post another brilliant Video of a Fat lady singing,
That should convince those still on the fence .

I didn't post the video of the fat lady singing and I was just pointing out the lawyer in the video is not the parent's.
You're not thinking clearly. Check your blood pressure. You might be having a mini-stroke. Lay down and rest for a while.

Not to be a Nit picker
but I was not aware of him even being charged with anything .
Not Charged yes .. but cleared of wrong doing ?
Proven , how ?

"Cleared of any wrongdoing" means that someone has been proven or declared innocent of any accusations or charges of having done something wrong.
Cleared of any wrong doing.
Ruled out as a suspect.
Free to leave.
All the same to me.

You're really reaching Jose. Unless you are privy to the information, you really do not know. Do not believe everything you read in the media.
I never qualified it as proven fact but questioned it's appearance in multiple media sources. Things like that don't just happen by coincidence. Observing it is not reaching.

Free to leave but the authorities lost his passport lol. Off to the embassy for a replacement passport.

Not sure what you're referencing, its about the $50K, I'll let it rest until someone has something on it since it seems this is quite normal.

Joshua Riibe, the 22-year-old Minnesota college student who was with University of Pittsburgh student Sudiksha Konanki the night she went missing on a spring break trip to the Dominican Republic, will receive his passport back on Thursday, a source in the prosecutor's office told ABC News.

I can almost picture it...some low-level prosecutor in the office moves aside some papers and maybe a leftover plate from lunch and...guess what...there's a passport! I would just about guarantee that they would have stuck to the "he lost it" story if Riibe did not go to the embassy for a new one.

This story should prove for once and for all that, in the DR, a good lawyer(or two) can be indispensable! No way you'd have gotten this result on your own.

If they can lose crucial evidence exonerating 8 innocent people, they can easily lose a passport.

Agreed and having the FBI and other US legal authorities involved early in the investigation helped him, as well. Otherwise he would be festering in a DR jail for god knows how long.

Santo Domingo.- According to RC Noticias, after more than a week of being held in a Punta Cana hotel due to the disappearance of Sudiksha Konanki, Joshua Steven Riibe has finally left the Dominican Republic.

Riibe departed on JetBlue flight 2538 from Las Américas International Airport at 5:24 p.m., heading to Puerto Rico
. His departure follows an extended stay as authorities investigated the case.

Yep. From what I hear, there's a lot of grumbling on social media that, if Riibe were a Dominican, he wouldn't have been treated the same.

Well ladies and gentlemen, this thread was definitely interesting in many respects. Kudos to the moderator for maintaining a relatively civil discourse. Not an easy job. It’s back to the Sosua Beach and overstay threads. The horror! The horror! 😁

Your right. As expats, snowbirds and tourists we‘re quick to criticize the DR legal system bias against us without realizing many Dominicans are subject to the same if not worse bias.
