For example, the annual Catholic mass to commemorate the anniversary of the founding of the Central Bank has a much more varied audience.
PS. Religion is not to be discussed in the forum. This happens in the Central Bank and other government institutions, including the Presidency, because there is no division of church and state in the DR. Plus, the country was founded with the Cathiolic church designed as the church of the state, as stipulated in the Janury 16, 1844 Manifest which outlines all the reasons for the creation of the Dominican Republic. This is just to show the audience isn't never composed almost of all women, unlike in Women's Day. Usually, religious events tend to have a more femsle following and attendance.

María Marte is the only Latino woman chef with 2 Michelin Stars. She lives in Spain where she has reached recognition as a chef, but she is from Jarabacoa.

The latest interview in Pesos Pesados is of Mercedes Canalda. She studied economics, for a time worked for the Central Bank and won a scholarship from the institution to continue learning in Japan.

Yes, there are several entities and NGOs managing HOFs nationwide, in different categories:
- The "Pabellón de la Fama del Deporte Dominicano" is the main one. Is managed by the sportswriters in the DR (aka similar as the BBWAA). Is where all athletes of all categories are honored. Usually by Nov-Dec of each year, presentations of new promotions are held.
- The DR Golf Hall of Fame started in 2014, but isn't kinda big or massive in media. Is owned by Fedogolf (the federation that governs most of the golf practice and some events in the country.
- There's another "Pabellón de la Fama" but focused only in DR and Latino baseball players. The ""Pabellón de la Fama del Béisbol Latino" is fully private entity honoring all latin american baseball players of all the leagues in the continent and winterball. They started in 2010-11: latinbaseball.org
- And some provinces like Santiago or San Pedro de Macoris have their own, honoring local athletes in different disciplines, the most MVPs each year, and veterans from that city/province. San Pedro, I think, has one of the oldest HOFs in the country (more than 70-80 years of existence).

Santo Domingo Motors becomes the first company in the Dominican automotive sub-sector that is recognized for giving women an equal oppurtunity vis-a-vis men regarding working opportunities in the firm.
Dominican companies that have a much more gender equality policy regarding its labor opportunities are recognized with the Equality Seal seen in the lower right corner.

All the major newspapers make reference to the moving the remains of Abigail Mejía to the National Pantheon (Panteón de la Patria) on September 28, 2023. Only the remains of what are considered the greatest Dominicans that did something major in defense of the Dominican Republic or its culture are post-morten distinguished and honored by having their remains moved to the National Pantheon. Not only was Abigail Mejía a major supporter of women political and civil rights in the DR and responsible for accepting women to vote in the DR at a time when women were akin to second class citizens, but she is the seventh woman to be admitted into the National Pantheon.
Her remains will join those of these Dominican women in the National Pantheon:

During the official mass at the Oldest Cathedral of the Americas in honor of the movement of Abigail Mejía's remains to the National Pantheon (her remains are in the cathedral during the mass with her casket covered by the Dominican flag, this was after they were exhumed but before they were placed in the National Pantheon which was done after the mass; another mention that is made is that she was baptized in this very same cathedral,) at 1:05:34 are the presentations which includes the Decree 164-23 that authorizes the transfering of her remains to the National Pantheon. It's noticeable the smile of several women in the audience as these presentations were made.

Lately, Alexandra Mejía Arcalá has been very public about her suffering of psychological and physical abuse by her ex-husband. If her last name sounds familiar, she is related to the founders of the Mejía Arcalá company. Its most widely known product is the Milex milk brand found in supermarkets and colmados all over the DR. She is currently the president of Mejía Alcalá company. A few days ago her ex-husband was arrested on charges of violence against women (he had been running from the law for several months.) Should be interesting to see how all of this plays out.
