The Dominican Republic is on the track of tropical cyclone nine. The forecast is for potentially life-threatening flash flooding and mudslides as the storm moves westward across the Caribbean.

The storm has a west-northwest track that would bring it to brush the north coast as a tropical storm.

The US-National Hurricane Center forecasters say that people should not focus on the details of the forecasted track. The storm is big and will bring rainfall and wind hazards extending far from its center.

National Meteorology Office (Onamet) director, Gloria Ceballos expects the present Tropical Depression #9 (possibly Tropical Storm Isaiah) to bring heavy rains nationwide as of Thursday, 30 July. She said her office is closely monitoring the evolution of this system.

Ladies and gentleman of the community,
Please take this storm seriously. Just because it has not reached "named" status, does not mean that it will be a cakewalk. Large amounts of rain following the several months of dry conditions here within could cause very treacherous conditions, especially in the mountainous regions of the nation. This would not be the time to travel by vehicle, or film you're next YouTube video while walking around the community. Also be mindful of power lines, which are flimsy at best in many areas. Do not go near them!
Stay inside, and let the storm/rains pass.
Be careful.

I already see the streets flooding... I'm checking the status frequently and it appears to be coming very close to POP indeed... Might be good also for the COVID situation as people really don't want to go out but then there might be a lot of gripe afterwards, and that might again not be good in terms of COVID...

Check the local small bridges if there are no branches or trees blocking the flow. Once it has started it’s too late. And dont try to Cross a floated road just because you are driving a Land Rover or Cruiser or any SUV.
Just saying ... I am not Livingstone.

We had a terrible experience with a blocked small river under our local bridge... don’t rely on your síndico.
