it was awesome! the resort was beautiful, the place was sparkly clean, always saw people cleaning. the food was good, the a la cartes were fantastic except the italian, but that's just my opinion lol. the beach was beautiful. if you have any specific questions you can email me at hellish@look.ca

why are there so many bad reviews on tripadvisor recently?? i have just packed, on our way to the airport tomorrow!!
I think it has a lot to do with rain. Whenever there is a lot of rain, tourists are generally unhappy and resorts staff has to do their regular job as well as help clean up messes caused by the inordinate amounts of rain. Rainy weather also keeps the tourists closer to the indoors parts of the resorts and they have more time to see what really goes on in keeping a resort up and running. Normally, they would be at the pool or out on an excursion.
During the time of the bad trip reports, there was, in fact, a lot of rain and the reviewers even complained of that.
Enjoy your vacation! Play in the sun when you can, and utilize the rainy days for complete relaxation...read a book, take long naps, get a massage. Don't worry needlessly.

Oh i will dont worry! i try not to listen to the reviews as i know people only write them either if they really liked or dislaiked it, or are real geeks!!
Its not really under the hotels control is it - the weather but im sure some will find a way to point blame!!
End of the day its better than work every day and a massage will never go a miss!!
Cant wait to get there now, nothing to do for 14days and nights, heaven in itself!!!!

We have been to the DR before so we know that it rains a lot and we expected this. When it rains, it's not cold so you can still use the pool, sit at the bar etc (which we did). The weather did not spoil our holiday. What spoilt our holiday was having human waste floating past us where the drains were overflowing. This is not a 4* hotel. If it had been advertised as a 2* and priced as a 2* then we wouldn't have anything to complain about. We have stayed in many 2*'s and 4*'s so we know the difference.
Also just because I didn't rave about the place it doesn't make me a geek! If it does judging by all the other bad reveiws there are an awful lot of us out there!

v.gadsby - enjoy your wedding - i got married last year in cyprus and it was fabulous cant believe it goes so quickly though - will see you there and watch wedding if thats ok!

Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Whenever posting, please also try to keep it factual as much as possible. That is really helpful to those still waiting to go on their holidays.
As for rain - we have stunning weather right now. But we will most likely fall back into the pattern of nice sunny days, clouds rolling in late in the afternoon and a thunderstorm or shower late afternoon, early evening. That does not happen every day - but often.
Also remember please - a cloudy day does not mean leave your sun screen in your room. You will tan and burn on cloudy days.

hi there i agree with people on this post.Its not nice see-ing human waste in the resort. Me and my family experienced the same thing in december and it still looks like the resort managers have not sorted the problems we had back then.
we had sewage all over our room backing up from the toilet,when it rained it backed toilets up.
If sleeping in a room with waste all over the floor is better than work then work must be really bad lol
