ANOTHER ONE AFTER JOSE?

I have just looked on Windy and at the end of next week (Saturday 16th / Sunday 17th) they have another hurricane coming across the Atlantic following Jose, looks like another nasty big one. I can't see this anywhere on the NHC, so I just wonder if this is some creative thinking by Windy or if there is another one building up that they can see.

I want to take a moment to say I am happy to hear that Irma did not bring the destruction the news had predicted.
I appreciate all of your updates and boots on the ground reporting with a special thanks to MikeFisher. I heard from my friends in Punta Cana. They were rejoicing the fact that they are safe.
Take Care

Outside of Sosua. Power has been out for over 28 hours. Since I didn't want to keep cycling batteries/generator I ran the gen all night and will leave it running until power back on or solar panels in place again. I see that many in my area ran out of battery a long time ago and most don't have a gen. I'm guessing that the posts here are down due to that same reason. Some cars have charging ports; mine even has a 110 outlet. Thankfully we did not have to hunker down in the car.

Clean up time. A few roof tiles to be replaced but on a porch area so not a high priority. Will run the well and water systems to keep the cistern full. Then start to make several large piles of tree and leaf debris and line up a truck to haul away when he has time. Washing/drying a bunch of wet towels. Start to move things back to there original places. I'll leave the shutters up until we see what the next 2 incoming are gone.

Have a good day and watch out for those downed power lines. Funny that no interruption of internet and cable TV but it has made things much better having it. Another couple of lucky things that we are thankful for.

Thanks to all our DR1 posters throughout the Irma ordeal. I was particularly impressed that Claro managed to keep the internet working. I felt much better knowing what was happening and how everyone was doing. It would have been very scary to be completely unconnected. I am thankful that the track was just enough north to spare us the highest winds, but even with those some people lost roofs and had flooding, especially in the poorer areas with metal roofs and wood walls near the rivers. Take care, everyone, and thank whomever you think is responsible for our good fortune!

East of Sosua.

We talked to our lead worker last night to make sure he, our other workers and their family and friends are oK. He said everything was fine other then some clean up. He asked about us and wanted to know if he/they should come to work today if all stays well. We had told them all to come back to work on Monday IF everything was good for them.

8AM. All 3 of my workers plus another plus our house keeper at the gate. It was just so awesome and over whelming.

Some think that we have been suckers with some things that we have helped them with. Major leg surgeries, paying off "someone" so they could keep/own their home, interest free loans, cheep computers for school and other things. Most of our workers have been with us for several years and we encourage them to take classes and learn so they don't have to be a lawn/pool boy forever.

Saw our neighbor this AM and threw a heavy extension cord over the wall and got them plugged in for refer and small whatever. Our generator has more then enough power and we have plenty of fuel and we will run it anyway until the power comes back.

So this is my happy post. Awesomely happy post. ;)

And another good happy feeling. We have used the same guy with his truck to haul away whatever for 15 years. Thinking that it would/could be days before he could get to us we called to get in line.

His truck is just now leaving with the first of several loads. Wow!

Happy for you Sunny Solar

Since I was away, I had my man and his brother move in to cover the house/dogs, etc.
His own family is just few hundred yards away.

Cleanup starts today.

I too support them in numerous ways..... yes, it works....
what goes around , comes around

So which Catholic saint should we blame for sending the storm in the first place?

Moderators, I thought this religious nonsense was supposed to be banned from this board?

Well you know the old saying?........"There are no aetheis's in foxholes".

This is what I have posted on other media sites. " For those of you who have sent healing thoughts and prayers you could probably have bent over and farted into the hurricane and done as much good for anyone who needs help in the Dominican Republic. Instead you can do what I and many others do every year. Contact the people on the ground (in my case in and around Sosua and Cab) and find out what is needed. Then on your , hopefully soon, next trip down pack a large hockey bag full of that stuff and bring it down. Westjet allows my wife and I a free humanitarian bag every trip down. You can also send money to local groups after doing some research. Do not send any money to the Red Cross (remember Haiti). It is not my intent to offend any spiritual or religious people I just get tired of the healing thoughts and prayers thing. Put your money where your mouth is." Also big shout out to Mike and the rest of you on this site for the up to the minute info these past 6 days. It was a real nail biter and I am glad you all have appeared to survived. Now the work begins.

Healing thoughts and prayers are totally without value to anyone but the person doing the thinking and/or praying. I won't be "praying" that Jose does no damage because I am aware that such efforts have zero value.

Irma seems to take the worst Tracking, the middle way i mentioned yesterday,
hitting Southern Florida and walking over Land all Florida from the SE to the NW.
I hope this Tracking prediction is wrong and the Storm takesa drastically different Path/Turn,
but the steering patterns show thatTrack.
it will be a strong Major Hurricane on Landfall and if the wall replacements stop it will even intensify.
it should keep Major Hurrican strenght til already over Northern Florida/entering Geaorga.
this one will still be on Hurricane Force over Central GA.
all the best for our Floridian friends.

It just wouldn't be the same without the constant reminders of those without religion, reminding the religious that they are fools.

no other Hurricane on the Radar after Jose tl now.
we have a wave connected with disturbed weather that hit atlantic waters last night,
i mentioned it last evening, as Braulio found it and asked about it.
it has posibilities for some develoment but no weather site could name that Today a future Hurricane.
is is much too early, it did not start any organized activity, zip, nada.
and our Highway is clothing down the chances for fast develoment, we have our thick Dry Air Protection Shield up.
if your site shows this wave as a Hurricane in a few days, then you should disregard the forecasts of such side as not reliable.

the "religious" shoudl know that talking politics, religion and races is not allowed here.
fo the good reason becausethose things are BS for Fidiots.
nobody needs any of that stuff on the weather topic.
keep that stuff for the specific Sections wheredr1 allows to discuss those themes.
here on the weather topic the Mod should remove all that nonsens and as it is anyways the general rule on DR1 for violations of such things, should send offenders on Vacay.

Thanks Mike,
I spent these past days worrying about kids in Punta Cana and Sosua and they got the good turn. So now I'm sitting in Florida knowing the monster is coming and hoping for a turn. Ironic.
I'm now getting the texts saying Cuidate that I was sending earlier this week.
