So the situation is:

1. At least a 3 years relation, with a baby. Are you sure the baby is yours?

2. Set-up house together, you paid the bills and the furniture. Is the house bought and paid for or a rental?

3. In a long distance relationship. Are you expecting her to be faithful?

It sounds like she found a more firm relationship and moved on.

Maybe you should too?

1- relation was 5 years and the little girl is from my blood. 2- House and furnitures were fully paid before she moved in. 3-In a long distance Relationship you may not expect her to be faithful. We have to remenber that we have a lot of army personnal going on fews months work. Of coarse things happen. I have a few of Dominican friends that are going to work in NY and Puerto_rico fews months and when they come back family is there. When you provide security and communicate everydays by videophone the odds are in your hands isn t ?? The Young chulo has found a tempoary fast income. But in that story this is the poor little one who is squeeze in a story that she should be away from. That s life, let s go one day at the time. Thanks for your reply i shall smoke a cigar on that.

She would have found the chulo even if you hadn`t bought her the laptop. She could have gone to an internet place or to a friend`s house. Plus, they could have met in person.

Maybe she`s been upset because you`ve been together for a while but you wouldn`t marry her. Maybe that played a part in why she moved out?
I am really happy that i didn t marry her. When i got married in 1989 with an other Dominican lady after 20 years of weeding we went trought divorced. We had 3 kids all adult by now and well established oversea That divorce had cost me 200K$ and beleave me i do not run on gold but fish and ship !!

Sorry to hear about your little girl man. I know that must be tough to be seperated from your kid.

Lets be honest though, this doesnt sound like a young lady (your ex) who has a backbone. If she was truly a decent woman, she wouldve been out of your home long before finding the new chulo. She just wanted something new now and didnt care about your feelings or maintaining your family together. You're better off without her man.

First order of business is a lawyer so you can make sure that you are allowed to see and spend time with your daughter. Second is applying for sole custody using any evidence you might have that she cheated on you or was already talking to a new guy from YOUR home. If you cant get sole custody (or dont want it), make sure you get solid visitation rights and are allowed to be a father to your child.

Third, and most important, this woman has already showed her true colors, dont fall for it again. You can take the woman out of the barrio, but you will never get the barrio out of the woman.

just let it be. if you are interested in the child arrange to pay for her school/food/care. let the woman enjoy her rotting furniture under zinc roof.

^^This. The young chulo is not going to be able to provide for her. She's already used to having a good life, only now she thinks she can let all that go just for the "love" she feels for her new chulo. But we all know it doesn't quite work like that. In time she'll see her chulo is no good, can't pay for her salon and can't buy her a new laptop when the one you gave her breaks (or gets pawned to pay for the chulo's mother hospital bills). She will get back to you. She'll say she's sorry and she was "confused" but never really stopped loving you. Yeah, right. When that happens, you'll be rewarded by the chance to tell her to GTFO...Furniture? forget about it. Life's too short to worry about furniture...

Thanks Frank, This is an exellent advise. I was a bit lost of control and balance been Under pressure oversea with my job. This is the reason i put that post, because there is a lot of fantastic people on DR1 with a lot of life experience. I shall definitly choose that path and this way to proceed. The story is a simple clasical Dominican story. My first mistake was that i bought her a laptop. With time she found a Young chulo by chating. She was waiting desesparetely for a visa to go anywhere oversea. Unfortunatly her tourist visa was declined by the embassy in june. It should have been great to be able to live together , sometime in my country when i was working. The little princess (my daughter) had no problems traveling since she had my nationality. In the balance been not as Young as she was, (29 years old) but a very secure providing responsable person i have lost that one for a chulo and therefore number 36 didn t show up. Thanks again Frank

Am I the only one who read this that thought it significant?

Typical behavior of a dominican leech. Once she realized that the gringo wasnt of any use to her, she left him and stole his belongings.

This is exactly what it is. You start working as a clerck. You have to produce as much as you can, you perspire, you succeed and they kick you out of the game to take another one that will work again....same Wheel as a roulette but you never win against the bank !!

Got that right. Unless you hit the dominican girl lottery and just happen upon one of the few decent ones (yes they do exist), may god help you. lol
