Answer is still no those 88 numbers are not free calls claro or anyone else
800 numbers are free using Google Voice, as are calls to non 800 US numbers. Been using Google Voice for years, even when I finally was gifted a smart phone. 😇. I use Altice service only to call Dominican numbers not on WhatsApp. Like EdeNADA.

I rarely use Skype with just a few people that still do use it. WhatsApp has dominated that market space.

I ended up using Skype, because that is the first of these ideas I could get to work. I still don't know why I can't just use my Alltice balance. That used to work for me.

I think Skype does have the advantage of video calls and video conferencing for those to whom that may be important. Very easy to attach files/photos/documents, too.

The "screen share" feature is a great tool for training large groups of people together as one group/ sharing new material who live in different countries/ time zones around the world.

Easy way to do it? I tried…. Thx!

(I use an iPhone) Open the Skype app, click on your photo to access the settings pages. Under the heading "Manage," click "Settings," then under the settings headings, click "Calling." Then click on "Caller ID" and you can set it to your number. I think they send a text to verify you own/have access to the number that you're setting your Caller ID to, but then you're good to go.

So if you have Caller ID and Call forwarding enabled, you're going to receive the calls to your US number on the Skype app, and outgoing calls from the Skype app look like they're coming from your US number (or other original telephone number).

Hope that helps.

When my banks need to speak to me ( or me to them ), I explain that I am abroad and it is inconvenient for me to phone. They always propose to set a time, and they call me.

Maybe worth a try ?
In the UK Lloyds Banking Group is prohibited from calling international numbers not even senior managers are permitted.

Try text now, you only need to have good internet service, works very good for calls to USA, Canada and PR, you can pick up a number from USA or Canada, can receive text messages and make and receive free calls any number USA or Canada.
