A closer look at people who tested positive for COVID-19 but never developed symptoms has found that such asymptomatic carriers have few to no detectable antibodies just weeks after infection, suggesting they may not develop lasting immunity.
There's growing evidence that a significant proportion of people who test positive for COVID-19 never show symptoms, although it's not clear what percentage of people that is and what role they play in spreading the disease.
A Chinese study published this week in Nature followed 37 people in Wanzhou District in China who did not show any outward signs of the disease, despite testing positive when their respiratory tracts were swabbed and being kept in hospital for observation.
Basically there is growing evidence that there is a lot of crap being thrown at the wall and lets see what sticks.

We will see shortly the havoc that covid cause when the 1000s of other people sick from cancer etc can’t go for treatment because of over capacity in hospitals . I know seven people that died of this , one was 85 yrs old great shape, rest 40-60 range so think what you want , those 7 people where not numbers on piece of paper to me but friends and people I knew.. DR letting people in July 1st will end tourism pretty fast IMHO without vaccine short term gains will bring long term loss.. options are like A$$holes we all have one...no rights or wrongs in opinions here , just hopes this will end sooner then later...
If getting the virus and antibodies are not generated to prevent a reinfection, how does one create a vaccine that generates antibodies to prevent the infection in the first place? That was my point, not about reaching herd immunity, but about the ability to reach herd immunity. A vaccine is one way to reach herd immunity if it is possible. We still have no idea how long immunity lasts after being infected. A virus could be years down the road despite all the nice talk about one happening soon.
I have a family member and a family friend who died from it. My family member was 71 with no health problems, the family friend was 43 with some issues with blood pressure. I have two other acquaintances that tested positive but have since recovered, one has ongoing lung problems. I have been tested twice and results were negative. I spent 14 days in quarantine because of contact and testing. This was all in Canada back in April.
From what I have seen, things are going too fast but I am biased because of what I have been through.

1. I hope herd immunity works. If not, we can't stop. We have to move on.
2. The study quoted was from China. We need another similar study with a country that has cred.
Until now, yes, they will reopen. The last resolution from the Ministry of Public Health is basically trying to avoid activities that require large conglomeration of people in one place.

If there is no immunity after getting the virus and the antibodies are of no use in protecting against reinfection as some are reporting, then all of these closures to this point will be for nothing.
Forget about an effective vaccine as well if antibodies don't protect against an infection from CV19. .
People will just have to move on and live with the consequences. More or less like life has always been in that regard, just with some more risk.

Mexico has opened up it's resorts with this stamp of approval from the world tourism and travel council, the resorts that have opened are running at 20% occupancy. I don't know why the RD are not following Mexico's lead, can anybody tell me why?
The lockdowns were introduced because the rate of infections that were happening would have totally swamped the health systems n the countries affected. It depends on the type of vaccine developed will be of benefit if it is true that antibodies offer no protection, but i think the science is still in the early days on the issue of antibodies.
