How bout them Sox? JD Drew is still hot even though he didn't get an RBI and "Mr Good paper" still fools them all with his diet of high fastballs. He must have a late release or something because these guys don't see it coming.

It looks like the Colorodo hitters were on "Holliday", except fort the man himself who was 4 for 4 but his mind was on "Holliday" when "Mr Goodpaper" picked him off. It looked like something out of sand lot baseball.

I pick Boston in 5 and the MVP to Papelbon or Pedroia - hey everybody roots for the little guy right?

Musicqueen, if you are available, meet me at Entrance Gate C - I'll buy the first round and a bag of peanuts.

Wish us luck tonight! :bunny:

Shoot, Dakra...I WISH I was at Fenway!!!!:bunny:

But...maybe next year we'll be able to make another trip, and hopefully be able to buy some tickets to a game!!!

Anyway, the Sox have won the first two...(last night by ONLY 1 RUN!!!:paranoid:) but you know what they say...it ain't over 'till the weight challenged lady sings!!!:cheeky:

It's on to Coors field now...and like Cleef says...this just might complicate matters a bit! ;)

I wouldn't be able to watch this without TiVo

The commercials on Fox are so extensive, repetitive and repulsive, I simply can't watch these games live. It's so frustrating to miss pitches and have the screen either covered by sponsor's banner, or that stupidly repetitive sound effect that comes up with every graphic, and the constant reminders of upcoming Fox shows - more commercials!

They actually put a full-blown commercial right in the middle of a pitch - live action. I couldn't believe it. Well, actually, yes I could. MFFox! They eventually came back, but for the love of God!

Hey Fox, no CHIT, I know you're bringing me the World Series! I know Chevy sponsors it. I know! I get it already! I don't need to be reminded 10x an inning that Fox is carrying the WS this year. I know, I'm watching.

I wait until that ridiculous 30 minute commercial laden intro (just did a count - 31 commercials in between the intro and first pitch) is over before I even begin watching. I pause the game after a couple innings and take the dog for a walk, get a hot tub session in, make dinner. I actually watched another show I recorded earlier and came back to the game. By the end I was almost caught up to live action. I can't do it any other way now.

I think the commentators (Buck and McCarver) have done a good job, although I sense they're pumping the Rox up - I think they want a more competitive series, and I don't blame them. They keep looking for reasons the Rockies could turn the tide.

The tide right now is just too strong. The Sawx are just wrecking the Rox. I was surprised Fogg actually went 2.2 innings. You had to figure this lineup, as hot as it is, was going to chew him up. If Papi had a better AB in the first, I'm not sure Fogg would have gotten through that first inning. Papi was pitched differently than he expected, they've been pitching him inside all series and that's what he was prepared for, he swung at some bad (outside) pitches.

Could the Rockies have been overrated?

Anybody think they'll win the next four? Or the next one, even?

"04 was the Miracle Year. This year confirms that the first one wasn't a fluke. After this, the Red Sox are just another team that may or may not make it to the World Series and may or may not win it. Ho hum.

After Game one, one of the stories on yahoo Sports began, "With the curse of the Bambino gone..." and that's kind of the point. With the curse gone, with the legend concluded, whatever happens now seems rather ordinary. It's kind of like sex, you know? It may always be good, but it will never be like the first time.

That first time, especially during the ALCS, there were constant phone calls and emails between friends and family to talk about what had happened and what might happen. And that win seemed like vindication for all of the Sox fans, like my parents, who lived through the years of Ted Williams and Carl Yastrzemski and never got to see that ultimate triumph. This time around, while it's nice and all, there's just not the same level of excitement.

So now it looks like the Sox are going to win their second world Series in four years, and I certainly congratulate all the believers, especially DAKRA and Musicqueen, but I just can't seem to work up the same sort of enthusiasm. Then again, maybe I'm just getting maudlin in my old age, so what the hell. If the gods will permit it, let's see if we can post Wally one more time...Go Sox!

No more MFWally!

Agreed.

As my rant above puts forth, I really don't enjoy following baseball any more. It's difficult to watch on TV, even radio is going over-the-top with commercials. I can't imagine I'll stop (at least) listening to it, but I've completely lost the ability to withstand the overt commercialism.

F Fox!

NICE JOB Red Sox! - I was a bit worried last night after the 5 runs that were scored, but I had confidence that we would win in the long run. Good Job -

Cleef - You are right the commercials are torture. I belive that the play off games add 30% more commercials and the World Series adds 50% more commercials. Really Odd, but I guess that is how they make their money.

I am predicting a fast finish to the end. Perhaps tonight will be the night, but I would much rather win at home! -

When are all of the congratulations going to be forwarded to me from all of those Non-Belivers like Miguel ?

It's on to next year!

That wasn't as easy as history will eventually lend to it in memory, but the Sawx are incredible.

Cleveland made the big pitches and got the big hits for three games, then the Sawx made the big pitches and got the big hits for the next 7, and they deserve the championship. Hell of a year, and I'm glad it's over!

Gonna follow the Pats from here on out, how they doing anyway? I gotta catch up, I bet Brady has a big year this year, I hope that fool Randy Moss has come around.

"Non-Belivers like Miguel"?.

Come on, you either did NOT read my posts or are just looking for "traffic".

Well, let me sound like you, a broken record, in case you missed it/them:

On your thread "Weekend Series.....", posts 48 and 52, I wrote about who I thought was going to win the World Series, back on 9/25 and 9/26.

Now, about the World Series:

I wonder who picked the Rickies to win?.

Jesus, they looked like little leaguers. Like kids playing with adults.

Again, thank God for Tivo.

I don't remember ever "watching" the last game of the World Series in 10 MINUTES!!.

GO TIVO!!!!.
