JCE makes official winners of the presidential and congressional elections

The Central Electoral Board (JCE) issued five resolutions with the winners of the 19 May 2024 election for President and Vice President, senators, territorial deputies, national deputies, and Central American Parliament deputies. With the issuing of the resolutions (41-45), the election process is officially concluded.

The JCE established that President Luis Abinader, running for the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) and allies received 2,507,297 valid votes, or 57.44% of the vote. To win the election, 50% + 1 vote was necessary. The runner ups were former President Leonel Fernandez for the People’s Force Party (Fuerza del Pueblo) with 1,259,427 votes or 28.85%, and former Santiago Mayor Abel Martinez, with 453,468 votes and 10.39% for the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD).
