Not to mention the roll they put them dogs on. You can stack two hot dogs on top of each other and still have room for all the toppings you want. Please don't blink when they fix the dog cause you will have ketchup, mayo, and that fake bottled cheese on top so quick you won't know what to do.

Back to do-nuts. There is a guy at the Centro de los Heroes Metro station that has a little hustle going. He buys several boxes of Krispy Kreme do-nuts and resells them. He sells out every day. Not sure what kind of profit he makes but probably a lot easier than sitting and waiting on a moto all day.

if i buy a dog and they put that yellow squeeze cheese on it, i am calling the cops.

if you had to eat some of these local hot dogs, you would put ketchup on them, too. and treacle. and maple syrup. and Mobil1.

There IS a dominican hot dog that I CAN eat.
"Emilio's".
I "Nuke" it for about 1 minute, then fry it to brown the outside.
Of course a slice of AMERICAN cheese, and good mustard helps a LOT!!!!!
And if you can get some "Hormel Chili without beans" you are good to go!!!!
BACON???????? Chopped ONIONS??????????
Maybe it's NOT the hot dog I like.

You should have posted that earlier. I was in La Cadena this morning and had that brand in my hand but opted for a Mr. Hot Dog brand. I am going to do them on the BBQ grill later. They really aren't for me so I think the brand I got will work fine but will try Emilio's next.

Denny's makes money in the US because they have very cheap prices. Over here any chain from the US that opens charges an arm and a leg because they thing they have a gold mine. After a few months the novelty wears off and they are toast.

They are opening all over the city. All of them are being supplied by the store on Churchill. They're also on Nunez de Caceres and Agora, and just opened one in Sambil.

I remember when the woman who opened Cinnabon in Acropolis (Bad business decision) told me she expected to have a store in every new mall in Santo Domingo within a year.

She closed there and moved to Blue Mall. Closed there and went to Sambil.

They've closed too. No more Cinnabon.

I'm waiting to see if IHOP opens again.

Denny's ain't doing so hot either.

There is still ONE Cinnabon operating in DR: Punta Cana Airport

Cinnamon buns the way they used to make them back home in Missouri were SOOOO much better than these things.
Bigger, sweeter, gooeier and even more cinnamoney.

I've never seen soft pretzels in DR, do they exist?

BB, please don't tell me you put mustard on them. I think it's a Philly thing, never saw anyone ever do that in NY. Blech.

i have never seen real pretzels of any kind in the DR, soft or otherwise.

Especially if I go to a Yankee game.

The good thing:

I do not put ketchup on the pretzels.
