Max Puig / Presidency

Max Puig, the executive vice president of the National Council for Climate Change and Clean Development Mechanism (CNCCMDL), Max Puig says the government needs to create more awareness in young people of the damages caused by climate change and how the new generations will pay the price for the lack of corrective actions.

Puig spoke of a survey of young people (6,093 students in 341 schools in 18 regions nationwide) carried out by Gallup polling firm to determine the perception of the population regarding climate change and its effects. He said one of the findings that creates the most concern is that while people’s concern has increased, the awareness of the causes and the consequences of climate change among the population has declined.

Puig said the government is committed to develop initiations to educate and create an awareness in the...

According to this mouth piece...
"Puig spoke of a survey of young people (6,093 students in 341 schools in 18 regions nationwide) carried out by Gallup polling firm to determine the perception of the population regarding climate change and its effects."
This is an early step of child indoctrination and it's dangerous. Someone at the top needs to step in and nip this in the bud before it causes much bigger problems.

I would prefer to go with the opinion of the vast majority of climate experts and have the children educated about climate change.

Anyone remember back in 2020 during the Covid lockdowns and the various photos of clear skies and no smog, where the norm had been smog? Just one example...I think it's obvious that we are causing damage, whether we call it climate change or something else. Why not educate people, in this case students, how those effects can be lessened? Why is that bothersome to many people?

Indeed those pictures in post #3 bother me.
How do you think they got to that point?
It didn't happen over night.
It started in the schools.

Tell me, do you really support this crap?

I would prefer the children learned about recycling and how to stop polluting, how to plant trees and grow food. How to stop throwing garbage everywhere and limit their use of plastics. Learn nutrition. How to limit their use of electronics.

In reply to post @CristoRey #7 - no, I don't support idiotic protests. Peaceful protests are fine...causing damage is not. And the article posted in #1 does not call for protests, but rather education. Again, some find that disturbing and I don't know why.

Maybe Maux Puig should glue his hands to the asphalt on Roosevelt Ave at rush hour to get more attention.

The Green New Scam was all about diverting billions - we saw that.

And the políticos who continue to gaslight the masses fly in private planes, buy beach front mansions (What Me Worry?) , leave their air conditioning on blast and worship at the feet of an uneducated stringy-haired Swedish loon.

All played to the tune of "Five Years" by the late David Bowie.

You can educate people all you want about climate change. They will still need energy and how they get energy will cause more climate change.
Mitigation is the future path to decrease the potential damage from climate change.

AI? The wave of the now and future needs massive computing power and vast amounts of energy. And so it goes. Those that pray, pray for nuclear fusion to be real.

That too. They can be taught both.
We can adapt to climate change, we can pollute less, but most Climate change is not man-made. I am very well read on the subject and have several friends that are very involved in the research. It is to a large degree both an instrument of control and a scam to make money. Absolutely governments and citizens should be trying to live and cleanly and energy efficient as possible.

Fine line between education and indoctrination. We should be striving to teach our children critical thinking skills. What is happening, why, what can be done, is it really from that or are there other factors involved....etc.

These people are nothing more than a bunch of charlatans, hustlers and snake oil salesmen.

It's a parent's responsibility to teach their children basic manners and not to dump trash everywhere.

Climate crazy propaganda is not only bad for society, it's often bad for the environment as well. The young school children of this country do not need to be indoctrinated into this cult.

If Mr. Puig wants to teach them something, he can start by teaching them how to read, write and do proper math.

We can all be well read, but it depends on the source of material that you read. Anyway, I'm not indulging in more back and forth - I am well aware of the apparent majority view on DR1.

The more well read and less gullible have figured out it's a scam.
What happens in 2031 when the world does not end as AOC (a bartender) predicted?
Maybe she'll claim her alarmist rhetoric saved us all.
It amazes me that some, even with science backgrounds, swallowed the BS with proud aplomb
