Max Puig, the executive vice president of the National Council for Climate Change and Clean Development Mechanism (CNCCMDL), Max Puig says the government needs to create more awareness in young people of the damages caused by climate change and how the new generations will pay the price for the lack of corrective actions.

Puig spoke of a survey of young people (6,093 students in 341 schools in 18 regions nationwide) carried out by Gallup polling firm to determine the perception of the population regarding climate change and its effects. He said one of the findings that creates the most concern is that while people’s concern has increased, the awareness of the causes and the consequences of climate change among the population has declined.

Anyone remember back in 2020 during the Covid lockdowns and the various photos of clear skies and no smog, where the norm had been smog? Just one example...I think it's obvious that we are causing damage, whether we call it climate change or something else. Why not educate people, in this case students, how those effects can be lessened? Why is that bothersome to many people?

I would prefer the children learned about recycling and how to stop polluting, how to plant trees and grow food. How to stop throwing garbage everywhere and limit their use of plastics. Learn nutrition. How to limit their use of electronics.

You can educate people all you want about climate change. They will still need energy and how they get energy will cause more climate change.
Mitigation is the future path to decrease the potential damage from climate change.

Fine line between education and indoctrination. We should be striving to teach our children critical thinking skills. What is happening, why, what can be done, is it really from that or are there other factors involved....etc.

It's a parent's responsibility to teach their children basic manners and not to dump trash everywhere.

Climate crazy propaganda is not only bad for society, it's often bad for the environment as well. The young school children of this country do not need to be indoctrinated into this cult.

If Mr. Puig wants to teach them something, he can start by teaching them how to read, write and do proper math.
