(I am presentable and act and behave with good manners and I carry a good sense of humor. I am not a model but looks should not be the factor stopping me from meeting Dominican women (I hope). I look good enough for Swedish women at least and judging from the comments I got in the DR I think I look good enough for Domnican women aswell (although I have no idea how things work in the DR)).

You will do fine here. Just keep your western mentality back home and do what romans do when they are in rome. watch and learn. You will see a totally different dominican republic, something many foreigners don't see for years if they live in tourist locations. These people I am talking about are the ones who run this country. They don't call USA "nu yol" and they don't worship foreigners. You will not be forced to feel like the big fish in a small pond. You will be more egual to them in general terms. So make a plan to move to santiago for a couple of months and rent a place from hillbilly. He offers a great location, very near all the action places. You will be safe there and he will guide you though the daily life in santiago. I will take care of the rest. Remember, our friendships are totally free and it will not cost you a dime. Just deposit 10 thousand dollars in my bank account and I will make sure its safe there for you when you get here. Hahahaha. just kidding.

AZB, your wasting your time. They have very little exposure to the culture we are talking about. They are never going to get what your talking about, they just can't wrap their minds around it.
Imagine if I started talking about the feelings and experience of menstruating. Forget it, I have never lived it, so could never accurately talk about it. This is no different to when a handful of us talk about girls, class etc in the DR.

Yes Robert but you're talking about women, Dominican women and it's too bad that we women don't have a representative on that side of the world to tell us exactly what is going on in their heads when they date you guys.

yeah, I give up, you people only come back with more questions. What makes me wonder is, what do you care what we do here and how we live our lives in DR if you folks don't live here and have no desire to assimilate in proper dominican culture? why not just worry about the ocean waves and the prices of american airlines for the month of june instead of forming a brain tumor here trying to understand what we are talking about. Your level of dominican knowledge shows just by the types of questions you are asking.

I think that guy "sunandbuns" dated women that had the same education level as himself.
I suspect that you are directing this question at tourists, but if it's for everyone, then of course I have, and more.

And we have 100's that we know that date and chase well under their education level. Most cannot hold a 5 min conversation with the girl they are with.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that a few people get it, but the majority have no clue. I know, I live and work here, I get emails and PM's from the clueless. hehehehe
