thank you for correcting my spelling! we have a very similar word in polish - plebejusz - so i guess it must come from latin. it is a mild insult but all plebeyos get really upset about that!:cheeky:

We have several sayings with verde in them:
viejo verde: perverted/dirty old man - it is not used only for old men, but any man who has an indecent interest in sex for his age.
barriga verde: indecent belly... not sure the literal translation, but you're saying the man is being vulgar or greedy.

Someone just informed me of another meaning.
"She even called him barriga verde". In this context it means that she called him by every insult under the skies. It could be said of a woman, also.
