Housewife = ama de casai am also told that "chopa" is not a female version of "chopo". it means a woman who stays at home, something like housewife? is that so? and would that be an insult for anyone else but a feminist?
?Barriga verde! (green belly/stomach) LOL!!!
I haven't heard that one in ages. Isn't it the most silly insult? What do we really mean when we call someone "barriga verde"?
No idea Norma but my husband uses it all the time and when I use it in the maket my platanos come down in price by at least 2 RS$!!!!!!
Barriga Verde= is an old man who is always after a woman.
Thanks, Ezequiel. But why is this old man a barriga verde?
We have several sayings with verde in them:
viejo verde: perverted/dirty old man - it is not used only for old men, but any man who has an indecent interest in sex for his age.
barriga verde: indecent belly... not sure the literal translation, but you're saying the man is being vulgar or greedy.
