I thought Baptiste and Dupre are very pretty too.

Along with Chery and Desire, those are the top 4 in MY pageant, lol.

Very pretty women, many of whom I'm sure are very accomplished. It's nice to see Haiti hopefully improving enough for folks to catch their breath and enjoy a pageant.

there are some unfortunate looking girls as well but i ain't pointing :)

There are dogs in all beauty pageants. Hooray for morena power, hooray for Haitian pride, and kudos to GWOZOZO for sharing. Don't concern yourself w/the fanfare G. Many on this forum are senile to put it mildly.

It's interesting to see New York and Miami represented in the competition.

Ex-pat community outreach can be crucial to Haiti's rebuilding effort.

That Haiti can have this competition at all is a good sign, IMO.

i think maybe you did not understand me? those two girls are, in my opinion, the prettiest of the bunch. as for the ugly ones... yeah, there would always be some.

I think we have the same taste.

1. Chery
2. Baptiste
3. Dupre

...of course there are prettier girls all over Haiti, just like whenever you have Mrs. DR there are prettier Dominicans even in the hood, but we all know it's not all about beauty, but money and connections play a huge role. It would be extremely rare that a poor girl from 'El Barrio' would make it to this competition just because of the money needed just to prepare for it.

who can tell anything from a head shot? I need to see the total package

Pageant would tell me these ladies are not whales.

I would take my chances if set up on a date w/o seeing the total package if pageant worthy. :)

If you put these girls infront of me and guessed where they were from as a group, haiti would be my last guess. Sorry, but I see much more stunning Haitianas every day selling fruit on the beach, or begging for change at traffic lights. These must be connected daughters as they are not Haitiana beauty.

Very few families can afford the costs associated with such an event. So by default most of these women are probably from well to do families, are college educated, multilingual with travel ability and experience. The criterias for selection has to be much much more than just beauty. So it might not necesarily be a realistic cross-section of the population, but Haitian nonetheless.

Absolutely. They are debutantes who spend their entire youths in preparation for this level of contest. All that singing, violin, piano, ballet and other training in the fine arts along with instruction in comportment and cultural values isn't cheap.

These Women aren't meant to simply represent the beauty of their nations but the cultural development as well which is why pictures are nice but we won't know who might possibly win out until the competition plays out. Fights are never decided at the "weigh-in" or as Chris Berman would remind us "That's why they play the games".

I'm going to add Legagneur to that list. Very pretty eyes....
