Hacia el pais de procedencia de este ciudadano, donde todos los nacionales han de ser dechados de virtudes, sin corrupcion oficial, prostitucion ni problemas.
Sirvase indicarnos donde queda ese paraiso, para por lo menos saber si existe, aunque no nos den visas a los dominicanos.

Living in DR
Having lived and worked in over 20 diffrent countries this is not so bad. try Algeria for a real experience they invented corruption they call it Bakshis then their is the Arab fraze Enshala [whatever will be will be] Go there first you will think this is heaven after returning and never write an article like yours again.

Thankyou Maxx Jaxx. The original poster has some very valid points. Its better to know all you will face when you decide to make a move to a new country. He may not be completely accurate but its neither is it all a walk on the beach. Its very refreshing to have some thoughtful postings instead of mud slinging. If that is all the message board is then I suggest it be terminated.

To me, your post is fact mixed with emotion. I hear you 100% on every point you made (except the one about not being able to have real friends, as I have many Dominican friends, and had excellent experiences with Dominicans in the campo that DONT ask me for money...), it is all exactly what I have experienced here.
The problem is you stayed too long and let it get the best of you. It is different here, and like a chinese water torture, these small things (that people who have not lived here can easily dismiss as unimportant to them) start to kill you.
Like someone else posted, you have to be able to change yourself, it is after all their country...when in rome...
Having said that, my wife and I are planning a move in May back to civilization, because like you, these things are really starting to wear on me and I fear that if I stayed another year I would be copy/pasting your post to the board!
