I’m also confused. I though only one QR code was required to enter and exit per trip. Separate codes for entry and exit add confusion to an already confusing, poorly functioning, automated migration entry/exit system.

You have to fill out your flight either coming or going separately. So two E Tickets are necessary. As there is no place for round trip, only departure, airline, and flight number on the E Ticket form.

What happens to you if don't have it done electronically and are leaving? Clearly there must be an option

That being the case, I will file for entry and exit QR numbers before I leave Canada to head down and print off both QR’s. I always buy return tickets anyway so it shouldn’t be a problem.

anyone know if this is per person or per family?
It asks you how many people are travelling in your party and there are certain parts of the form you fill in per person and certain parts per party. It's basically the paper forms online and it prints a barcode at the end.

So basically it is exactly like a HUGE number of other countries. Pretty easy to do on-line and really no issue at all

Agreed. I found it very easy to do online and my friend said it was wonderful not to have forms to fill in on the plane and to breeze through the airport.

Didn't last long...

But admittedly, they switched at the wrong one - fall/spring..... I forget
It was a total failure - rescinded in short order
Yes, they switched to Daylight Savings Time to be in sync with New York.. But what killed it was that all employees were wanting to leave work an hour earlier so as to be home before dark.

But if you can't use your phone in the airport, how can you show them the required digital E-Ticket ?

Alert – U.S. Embassy Santo Domingo (December 23)

Location: Dominican Republic

The following information has been updated on the Embassy Santo Domingo COVID-19 website:
  • On December 23, the Dominican government instituted restrictions on airports in Punta Cana, Santiago, and Santo Domingo permitting only ONE person to accompany travelers inside the airport for arrivals or departures. One additional person can accompany travelers by vehicle but will not be allowed access inside the terminals. Cell phone use is not permitted inside the airports.
  • Airports remain fully operational, however flights to and from the United Kingdom have been suspended.
  • Starting January 1, all passengers are required to fill out an E-Ticket when entering or exiting the Dominican Republic. For each entry and exit a new E Ticket is required and the code generated upon form completion can be presented at the airport on a digital device.
  • The Dominican Republic has 162,496 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 2,398 confirmed deaths.

Relatively easy to do on the Español page but there are glitches on the English page.

Well, so much for online entry document etc....I plopped in to STI about 24 hours back. I had to fill the usual two forms plus a Health self declaration....in all , the whole thing took about 8-10 minutes, perhaps less.
STI was a (expletive) disaster....about 500 people waiting to get in at that ungodly hour and no 6 feet space for even those that wanted to do it including the undersigned. A classic super spreader except that most had masks. The police disappeared halfway through - I guess their shift had ended. It was an hour of trudging along a snaking line and by the time I got to the immigration, the lady was exhausted.
I had brought some nice NE apples for people here....customs threw them away all the while, there is no problem for drugs coming in and going out...

Merry Christmas everyone.

I did this and had QR codes printed out for both the arrival and the departure.
Once you figure out how to make it work on the website it is very easy but it does seem a little buggy.
For me it seemed like switching between espanol and english on the top right made all of the drop downs that you need start working.

I am assuming it all is very new to them in POP as they didn't really seem like they really knew what to do with them.
They never scanned it at immigration so not sure if they already had the info in their system and that is why.

At the customs desk there was a scanner there to scan it but he just took it and waved me through without scanning it.

On departure they did take my passport and the exit paper to a separate desk where they had a computer so they might have done something with it there.
At the immigration window they did not scan it and offered to give it back to me.

It all seemed kinda odd to me but perhaps they already had all of the information they needed.

It does for sure save time in not having to fill out the immigration and health form.

I was told on the plane I still needed to complete a customs form but they never asked for it.

It all appears to be a learning process right now and I assume it will become much more streamlined when it becomes required for everyone to use.

You print it out and show them the piece of paper. Simple
