I do not know of the legitimate resumes of the geologists, medical doctors, economists, physicists, attorneys, and paleontologists on hand, at the call, that designates them "experts"........
......but I do profoundly thank you, and Mr. Bob Saunders for the consistent references to the benefits of fresh fruit intake.
I have stepped up my personal consumption of such, and I must admit, I believe it has assisted me during these scary Covid times, when many find themselves feeling quite vulnerable.
I've ramped up my meat and cheese intake.

Thank you. Now please spend a decade on this board contributing invaluable local knowledge instead of being a hater with 175 posts of less than diplomatic or entertaining content. Make it a great night Andy!
It's strange because I see nothing but trolling from you and no post of value. You're so desperate for attention so the best way to handle this situation is to introduce you to my ignore list. Have a nice life sir

If Migracion decides to tighten up....
I can't wait to hear the screaming

They can't do that to me... I'll never come back....
they'll lose a lot of money....

Personally, I hoping for a better system for longer stays
The current 15 or 30 days seems to be designed for a typical tourist..... 7 - 14 days in an AI

The other visitors are such a small group they have attracted no attention ----- Yet !!
But they need attention

Who will go in the cross hairs ???
Those who are here semi permanently..... or permanently.... w/o permission/compliance
And this is really the point of all the dissention in this thread. Out beloved members who pride themselves in wing and a prayer illegal stays in DR, will soon find themselves in a complicated situation I hear via the grape vine. Rolled in with spot virus checks, remand to coby hotels, then deportation of llegals. Check point Charlie at the tolls and common access roads will soon have escalated amounts "inquiry points", where they can't wait to find fresh virus meat, illegals, folks with no driver license (thinking on their 10th overstay trip a passport is still valid), handguns, other white arms, Yaya and other contraband, tats and rap sheets in their home countries. It's all coming down the pike. And the best is they don't care how.much you spend at LaSirena or your local colmado papi. Que te vaya bonito!

Lots of people... Doms & Gringos alike... lack a license, insurance... a myriad of shortcomings
It will be a mess for a while if your prediction comes to pass

I love a legitimate visitor... short or long term... take'em all !!

The true interlopers, are equivalent to squattters & can go pound salt.... IMO.... no 'H'

keep it on the up & up......and you have the support of many....
there aren't too many other places on the planet where you can just walk thru the door and put your feet up
Sit down - stay a while - take a load off - have a little taste !!

Hopefully, the new Migracion boys feel the same - we'll all be better off

Funny how the people who have the residency want everyone else to get it too, because they have spent time and money they want everybody else to spend their time and money on it 🤣. Grumpy grumpy people, very unfortunate. Live and let live, somebody wants to be in DR 15 years without the residency, why do you care? Aaaah yes, it's the law. Grumpy grumpy people... 😂😂😂
Not true. I really don't care if anyone gets residency. Not in the least. What other people do is completely up to them.

LWTN: looks who's trolling now! Not to mention stalking Winded all day. You're very angry. I think you're a little nervous.
Why would anyone be nervous. Nothing ever changes. Even when the entire government does in a couple of days, all will remain the same.

It's a cruel twist of fate when someone with a keen sense of the rule of law winds up moving to the DR.

Hilarious! .......and going on ad nauseam about this and prostitution.
What's the point???

As is this one by Windy:
."The PLD created regulations, which include the overstay fees, regulations that are outside of the law.
That is how the PLD has avoided enforcing the law, by making up their own rules. Did you not read the OP? ] end quote

Is the next gob.do going to be substantially different???

It really is strange how gringos living in the DR carry on about legalities.

Dominicans have a very unique way of life, quite different from many other countries in the world.
From the top on down to the barrios, most are running any angle they can to get money and get away with whatever they can.
Legalities are a suggestion of what to do and are avoided in any way one can.

Sort of like backing up in a one way street, to avoid going the wrong way.

The parties of the past are on record with their performance PR- PRSC- PRD
As are Judges and lawyers.
We will see how Abinader PRM and his promises perform.

The DR elite has its life.
The barrios and average life will remain as it is hopefully.
The devaluation of the DOP and the DR deficit is on record.

Those Dominicans living in a DR casita married to a gringo, may have a new sense of entitlement and a new outlook on DR life.

PRM
A strict adherence to laws and a new way of life in the RD?

Jesús (Chú) Vásquez, the named Minister of Interior & Police in the upcoming Luis Abinader presidency, says the next government will apply the General Migration Law 285-04. He said the law was passed when he presided the Senate in 2004. “Nothing needs to be invented. Just apply the law,” he says. He says Juan Manuel Rosario, who consulted on the law back then, would work with him as Deputy Minister of Interior & Police, responsible for the migratory matters.

Vásquez says that the migration issues worsened because of the delays in the government passing the ruling to apply the law. He said during those limbo years, many more people migrated here. He says there also has not been the political will to confront the situation.

[Lobo:
The migration referred to here, was it from US, CAN, EU, tourist arrivals who overstayed without applying for residence?
Or is Vásquez referring to many more people who migrated here from Haiti during limbo years?
Is he going to confront this situation, or planing to focus predominantly on entries by plane with tourist 30 day cards?

Or indeed is Vásquez going to confront all cases on an equal priority basis?] end lobo's comment

The named Interior & Police minister is a professional politician and farmer-entrepreneur.

Lol at that quote. He's the second person I've put on ignore and the ignore feature works brillantly. Some of these guys are literally seniors acting like they're in high school. Its shameful and pathetic. Take care bro.
