I doubt in the states. But in the DR there are loads of local “universities” which teach on Saturday and in the evening.
indeed!!! many here just like the States are too smart and important to go to school. Being uneducated is a proud tradition passed down to the next generation in many communities

What if there is NOT a "huge new wave" in Puerto Plata the next 11 days/2 weeks?

That is what all should be hoping for.
How would you ever find out? There will be a lot of people in the barrios with very bad flu-like symptoms and some will die. But as they don't do covit-19 testing no one will ever know of that. Maybe in a years time with some by then available cheap antibody-tests they will find a strange pattern of high amount of antibodies in Puerto Plata. Then they will speculate what happened.

I applaud those people! They all collectively said "Fu*k this virus hoax, we're not sheep and we're gonna live our lives!" Good. Corona is nothing but a flu. The media got you all scared like little kitties. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
I can't believe people are still saying "it's nothing but a flu". Ask my ex who works at a hospital in England where over 150 patients and 6 members of staff have died. She's in her sixties and says she's scared to go to work every day. This doesn't happen with flu. Sorry this isn't strictly DR related, but the same applies here.

We wouldn’t know either way there lack of testing coupled with last 70000 tests purchased being faulty from our friends in China..... wonder if China did this purposely to us all to control market share..threatening Australia for suggesting inquiries into start of virus..

Flu kills 40,000-70,000 in the US alone every year during "flu season," and hundreds of thousands are hospitalized with the "seasonal flu."

It's just that until now no one paid attention because as a society those numbers are acceptable, just as traffic, heart, cancer, drowning deaths, etc., are.

If we tracked every case of the seasonal flu like we do this one, there would be seasonal panic.

That is not to say CV19 is not a particularly nasty bug, because it is. But numerically, it is no where near as widespread and deadly as the initial predicted numbers which created the panic.

Get outside NYC and a couple of other sardine can urban areas, and CV19 is no big deal.

It will be interesting to see how Puerto Plata is in two weeks. It will be a good Petrie Dish.

The more we know, the less panic there should be, but some still try to spread panic.

Im due for a colonoscopy however my Doctor said to put it off for a year and just sent me a container to mail him some poop
I hear there are at least 200 people a
day at the beach in Puerto Plata sitting
on the wall or in chairs playing dominos.
Sounds pretty spooky.

The National Police Commandant Bell Fernández, stationed at Puerto Plata, has been suspended for allowing the multitude to unite and violate the social distance mandate.

And how exactly would you go about removing a fairly/legally elected public official? This should be interesting.
I said should be. I know the drill but it is still a shame that this was allowed.

Thanks to the cross carrying buffoon and his lemming followers, the PN are shutting down Puerto Plata for a week. Just a week.

Really? all the rain makers knew it was going down. It was elaborately planned. The sheep just follow when the gate is open.

Thanks Cobraboy, finally someone is taking a common sense approach to this "Pandemic". I completely agree with your post here. I have even talked to doctors in the DR and the US and they have said the same thing you're saying here. Nasty bug, no doubt but not the end of the world as the news media and governments all over the world are making it out to be. I have a close friend who is on the frontlines in Fort Lauderdale FL, a doctor, and their findings are that 80% of the people who contract the virus have flu like symptoms from mild to strong but recover successfully at home without any help from the medical field. Of the remaining 20%, roughly 95% had preexisting conditions such as diabetes, heart problems, high blood pressure, obesity etc. and have needed some type of hospital help to recover with a very small death rate. This is right from the frontlines so it corroborates what you are saying in your post. A local doctor friend of mine in the DR has had similar experiences with his patients.

The DR copies and follows the U.S. so things happening there will find there way here to the DR sooner or later.

You are right Cobraboy, the fear that is being spread both here in the DR and around the world is completely out of control and is being used to further agendas. The damage that is being done to the DR economy and the other economies around the world is ridiculous and sickening and is way worse then the virus.
