What court in the world would even take this case. They better build a whole host of new prisons.

And which bar owner or restaurant will look more than a quick glance, if at all. Especially at a photo on a cell phone ? They won't even know if it's a photo of your card or your buddy who came in 5 feet ahead of you. Will they require us to produce an ID with photo at the same time ?

Nope - this absurd rule is going to go away faster than the helmetless riders running red lights in front of Playero

Stop hounding people with your fear porn please!!!...here in Santiago I can go to the Juacalito (the federal government building) and get the PCR test done for FREE...results in 15 minutes...I'm sure in other localities it's the same...
Testing for infinity ? Free or not yes you can, so please have at it every week.
It is not we who are opposed to vax IDs that are hounding people, it is the government biting at our heels

Printcity now provides the service. I was thinking this is how they should have done them in the first place
It should have been plastic cards the size of a credit card and embossed at the vaccinations sites if they wanted you to carry it
I still say my idea of Auschwitz type numbered arm tattoos is more apropos

Some here I think only know the campo life or a gated type tourist area. If you know Santo Domingo or Santiago you know this is going to be impossible.
I live in Santiago and I can tell the PN are tired of it. I saw plenty of pushing and yelling in lines when this crap first started and this is nothing more than a distraction. I can see it now, a person has been fully vaccinated but isn't carrying their card/ proof when attempting to enter a store. What a mess.

Yeah they didn’t think long term that it was going to be used for people to carry around in a wallet or pocket. Funny size it has now. Maybe it can be tucked under a belt in front. You don’t want to loose it.

Dominicans tend to ignore rules and most laws. I think this will be no different after a few months and sadly it will probably take another serious incident with loss of life at the hands of the PN before they roll it back.

I think they will backtrack soon unless we have a new political system in motion. No Dominican I have talked to in the capital believes this will work.

Like a couple of posters here on dr1 has said. Probably around 50% are vaccinated. So the country will not be able to function. It’s totally absurd.

At the end of the day it's their country so they will continue screwing it up as they see fit.

I'm not going to copy and post the entire article but according to DT it appears they are encouraging
Dominicans to report Dominicans who present questionable documentation to the authorities.
For some strange reason the words "logistical nightmare" come to mind.

"Regarding the requirement of the vaccination card, the Ministry of Public Health warned that the falsification of the document would lead to prosecution and informed that businesses that detect a possible false card must report it to the authorities for investigation purposes."

Why not?

No curfew but with a vaccination card or PCR test to enter establishments

MEASURES SUCH AS THE MANDATORY USE OF A MASK, HAND SANITATION AND PHYSICAL DISTANCING ARE MAINTAINED

Digital Writing
Santo Domingo, RD

The Ministry of Public Health announced this Friday a series of new measures to be applied at the national level, hours after the Executive Branch announced the end of the curfew and the state of emergency.
These provisions are divided into two groups, those that will be applied as of next Monday and those that will enter into force on the 18th of this month.
Likewise, measures already in force are maintained, such as the mandatory use of a mask, hand hygiene and physical distancing in public spaces.
Those that will begin the following week are the requirement of a Public Health authorization to organize activities that involve crowding.
Likewise, establishments for public use may receive people up to 75% of their capacity.
In addition, they will prohibit the sale of alcoholic beverages in bars, discos, grocery stores, casinos and entertainment centers from Monday to Friday after midnight and on Saturdays and Sundays after 2 in the morning.
October 18
From this date, people over 12 years of age must present an identity document and their vaccination card with at least two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, both in original and in a legible copy (physical or digital) to the corresponding public or private authority, if they wish to carry out the following activities:
To attend in person to workplaces with closed spaces and for collective use; to attend in person the study centers of all levels, whether public or private; if you want to use means of transport, be it urban or interurban.
The same to enter bars, discos, grocery stores, restaurants, clubs, shopping centers, casinos, shops or other entertainment centers.
What if they haven't been vaccinated?
Those who do not have the vaccination card, will have to repeatedly present an original PCR test that is negative and performed seven days before.
This measure will cease to apply 14 days after receiving the second dose of the vaccine, and in exceptional cases Public Health may grant special permits to those who cannot receive the vaccine for medical reasons.
After this announcement, the authorities also stressed that the falsification of the PCR cards or tests may be prosecuted and sanctioned in accordance with the Penal Code

All you need is your phone. The law clearly states that a legible copy on your phone is accepted.......................

True. And your cedula I guess as ID to confirm it’s. Passport for the people who got vaccinated using that. Again a digital image maybe is enough

I would be worried about who decides if the card is genuine or not and the possibility of ten years jail. I really doubt they can manage this. I find the whole plan a little wacko. As foreigners we are probably less likely to be victims of possible abuse.
The vaccination data base has the information. I found this out in person when I asked to get mine officially stamped.

Will this regulation be hard to enforce? You betcha...
