Some people may not like her, but she definitely has no fear going up against anyone. Got to give her credit for exposing what she does. I met her at the airport a few years ago. I found her to be very nice.
Same here, but at the movies in Blue Mall VIP in SD.

Her access to and utilization of public records is astonishing at times.

I further investigated the reporter. Yes, I agree with the previous poster, she is a well-preserved unit. However, if she wants to be taken more seriously as an investigative journalist, she should not get involved in tabloid reports. "Girls twerking" in a barber shop is not real news.

Why is she worried about what adult women do out of their own will/volition?

Or are we supposed to believe that adult women don't know what they are doing and should be treated as children?

(Now the allegation of underage girls being involved is a separate issue -- and that is the ONLY thing that should be investigated anyway).

Actually that is NOT the only thing. While prostitution in DR is legal, pimping is not, and this guy is a pimp. Bobby of Rumba was deported for "promoting prostitution" and the guy never took a peso of any hooker, this guy Santana brings his "dancers" to private parties to have sex with the guys and he takes his cut out right, that's straight up being a pimp. Now I don't think he should be punished because the "dancers" know what they're getting into, but if "the law is the law" then Nuria had every right to do the expose.

"if she wants to be taken more seriously as an investigative journalist......"

My dude, with all due respect, you don't have a clue of the amount of investigative work this woman has done and reported over the years.

She is easily one of the most respected investigative journalists on the island, if not #1

He needs to be punished for pimping and for hiring underage girls (even if they were the ones that used a fake cédula with a fake date of birth). But the DR is the DR, things as written on paper is not always how it’s applied in person by the very same government authorities. Lets see what happens including the very real nothing.

You must have not investigated that much. She is well respected as JD said. Anyone who lives here knows very well the extent of her investigations. I would not be surprised if her investigation of the thread topic does not reveal more.

OK "dude" if you say so. Unfortunately, her work speaks for itself. Why is it Sir (notice I did not call you dude) that a reference was made early on about her physical appearance. Does that make her a better journalist?

Yes, of course, young girls twerking in a barbershop might get international exposure. It is right up there with chicas working at car washes offering extras. As indicated earlier, why not tackle complex problems like water and power. Are successful working businesspeople here even slightly interested in this sleazy barber shop? I think not.

Oh yes ! She shattered and exposed a massive story. "The barber shop-"gate". She will get a Pulitzer for this.

The reference to her physical appearance has nothing to do with her ability. The comment made about her physical appearance was an after thought by the poster. "Unfortunately, her work speaks for itself?" Big do you live in the DR? Very surprised at your negativity. So, you base all Nuria's work on this story?

...and work! However I do not consider an interview with a grown man that is attired like a clown wearing a hooded sweatshirt on a Caribbean Island and a clown hairdo to be an expert on anything.

good point. I was making reference to just this one story. Since that is what the thread is about. Not directed at her complete portfolio.

About the bold, it may not be the case in SD, but there are places in the DR where at times a sweater and much more is needed to be worn to remain warm. That may not be the case in 99% of the Caribbean islands, but Hispaniola isn't a typical island in the American tropics. Just sayimg...

Nice try! His attire, hair style and earring speaks for itself. Thank God she did not interview one of the scantily clad spandex wearing twerk artists.

Although I no longer sport full locks requiring a tonsorial artist with a sartorial flair, if I still did, I would prefer the stylist pay full attention to the work at hand and not a pair of jiggling cheeks.
And of course, as a client, I might have a hard time keeping my head still while being taunted by a back door.

Nuria is not such a "repected Journalist" as many of you might think. There are a lot of reports that she made while "being extremely closed" to the direct competition of the "Target" of her "Investigation. Also... she is hardly doing any invastigation by herself. Her Staff does this for her. She only does the Interview and Reporting. And this is exactly her excuse when she gets attacked for a lousy "investigation" . " I'm so sorry for trusting my staff to much on this issue". It will never happen again.
