I think beer in the US is 3% alcohol by law. I'm not sure though. I think that is what NY1 was trying to say.

Bud is 5-5.5% and there are 6% beers in the US. Just as an update on my ONGOING quest, i found a couple of companies to ship it to me but the shipping costs were CRAZY!

I will be in Washington D.C. next week. Anyone know if they sell it there???

He brought some "Presidebte" from the DR,and compared it to some bought in the USA.
No one could tell any difference!

From my understanding, Presidente in DR has a 6% alcohol content........no way, it has that much alcohol content in the US variety, by law.

In my opinion, it's the same thing. After buying presidentes, I put them in the freezer and wait till they're in vestido de novia style. The taste is no different from a beer I would have in DR.
