Indeed, Casa Linda owners got something to tell them of the split up like this from one owner back to me:

The only thing moving more slowly than Connections villas and clubhouse at ground level are the plazas on Sosua Beach. Lots of web scrubbing needed about that..
The condos part progressed much more. Are they separate even within that development at the entrance to Encuentro?
The Connections villas are integrated with the condos & are largely built out. Sales of the condos have been halted. Apparently, the balance of unsold pre-construction condos will be marketed for sale as condo hotel units. We'll see how that goes. Although with amenities such as a 10 minute walk to the beach, huge pool, restaurant & fitness center - it may work.
It is all on the same plot of land, so that makes sense to "integrate" them since everything else in the common area will be shared between the villas and condos.
The villas might be built, but the finishing seems to take forever and ever, and that is a very long time. I know an owner there who left the DR frustrated over what happened to him. VERY frustrated at being years late in delivery he was literlly forced to take ownership. His villa is for sale for many months now.

If you exit from La Boca on the sand road and keep right, Villas Del Sol will be on the left, non ocean side of Camino del Sol, as you go north toward the northwestern entrance of Jardin Deportivo. There are quite a few new homes on the right as you pass through that area. Much of Jardin Deportivo still likes like it was part of the Urkaine war zone, while some parts are improving.

Windeguy has said once or twice that the developers of the golf course by Costa Azul have agreed with the government that La Cienega , which is behind the planned development will be demolished and the residents moved to La Bombita area. The lady who cleans my place lives in La Cienega and when I mentioned it to her she laughed and said it was just a rumour. She said they could never move so many people. We'll see!
Unless they plan to four lane the highway from Puerto Plata stretching past Cabarete or install a light rail transit system, traffic is going to be serious problem once these Wonder Projects are complete/ occupied. Then there are the never ending issues with water, electric and waste.
I would wait until the dust settles before buying/ investing anywhere near the above mentioned.

Oh it is a rumor alright regarding that one point of Leo's Project Tango. It would be hard to make happen, but one can hope.
