Hello everybody,

first thank you for your kind response and info about the other storm I thought...which is actually not coming.

I just wanted to share the details that my son called from Puerta Plata today, leaving me a message that everything is so wonderful here and that they enjoy their time very much...... The weather is nice...

One time I wanted to move there...and buy a little shack, just a simple life with nice people around me. I do work with Domenicans and I truly love them.

Good morning. We have another bright sunny day. It is hot already and we have almost no breeze at all. Forecast high is 90F but it will feel much hotter with this humidity.

Well mom we are all glad you heard from your son! All is good with the world.

Last night we had some nasty clouds roll in and apparently there was a bit of rain. I was on my way to Santiago and let me tell you they got a LOT of rain. But 10 minutes east of the city - they got none at all.

Today I think we can expect to see some clouds later in the day and maybe we will see a bit of the wet stuff.

Once again a beautiful day - hot, sunny, humid with a light breeze. We did see a few clouds later yesterday but no wet stuff.

I fully expect we will see clouds again later but who knows about the wet stuff.....

It is 89F but feels hotter right now...

Good morning.... we have another perfect day......

It is HOT - 89F but feels much hotter, humid, a very light breeze. Yesterday we saw a few clouds in the late afternoon but got no rain....

Saturday August 25

Good morning - it is a beautiful day once again. In fact it is a beautiful day for a wedding - no - not mine... My friend is getting married today and the reception is at Playa Dorada Golf Course. I will tell you about it tomorrow.

It is expected to top 91F today but it will feel much hotter due to the humidity. We have no clouds at the moment but they could roll in later on.....

We have no breeze whatsoever at the moment.

I feel sorry for those guys who have to wear monkey suits to this wedding.....LOL

Monday August 27

Good morning, we are still experiencing the same fabulous weather. It is hot, humid with barely a breeze. IT has been pretty much the same all weekend. No rain, no thunder, no problems...... well except all those tourists running around looking really over cooked..... Wear your sunscreen people.... High today is forecast for 91F but it will feel much much hotter.

Saturday the wedding had fabulous weather. The reception was at Playa Dorada Golf Course restaurant - we sat on the veranda with a light breeze and a clear sky! It was great - great food too.....

Good morning again. I will do my scientific weather report this morning.....one minute while I look out the front door............... yup we have another stunning day! Mostly blue skies, one big fluffy white cloud handing out up there, NO breeze and damn it is hot and humid already.

Now if you think I am kidding about my method - NOPE..... nothing scientific here folks. BUT here is a request from anyone coming down soon - I would love an outdoor thermometer! Of course I will pay for it, anyone finding room for one coming to the Playa Dorada / Puerto Plata area just let me know.....

BIG change - we are now pretty much surrounded by some ugly ugly looking clouds......... pretty good chance we will see some shower activity.

Directly overhead we still have blue skies but the clouds are closing in.

Thursday August 30

Good morning. Today - well another boring day of sun, heat and humidity...LOL Just to rub it in a bit I hear it was 3 C in Calgary Canada yesterday. You people call that summer???

We have 86 F this morning under bright blue skies, no breeze and I can't see any clouds.

For all the clouds we had yesterday (and a little thunder) we had no rain to speak of. Just a 2 minute shower about 7 pm.....

To the poster - beni34 - thanks. Maybe mine are more accurate because I actually live here and have the info first hand. I also try to stay away from saying what will happen...... But for you - I will pull out my crystal ball. September is historically damn hot and humid. YOu can expect a LOT of sunshine and a bit of rain. Usually with this high humidity the clouds will roll in late afternoon and we might see a shower or two. So be prepared for a bit of rain.......

September is also our most active month of the hurricane season. Again no real problems here as we get so very few and they rarely hit the north coast. SO don't worry, relax and come enjoy your holiday!

Just to repeat what others have said, thank you Planner for doing a great job and keeping all us holiday makers up-to-date with the weather situation. Not ever having been to the DR before and the recent hurricane I was a bit worried but your reports have helped a great deal.

The last day of the month......... how did that happen???

We have sunshine, heat and humidity......... I expect it will stay this way for the next 60 days.... Ok once in a while some clouds and a bit of rain....

You are very welcome, glad this is helpful and yes I still need that thermometer..... Thanks in advance if you can find one.

IT is currently 91 F but it feels like it is 98 or so. WE have a nice breeze so that helps.

I will not be on line tomorrow but I will tell you right now what it will be like - more hot, humid and sunny.... There you go.

Monday September 3

Good morning - we have another hot sunny day! Under mostly sunny skies it is currently 88F but it feels hotter then that. We have a really nice breeze and humidity of over 75%.

Over the weekend we had a bit of rain which was nice but it didn't last long and the sun quickly followed! The rain washed the dust off everything - thank goodness.
