Today we have some broken clouds and lots of sun. It is hot and humid with a bit of a breeze. We might see some rain later on.

I will repeat this again for the new people - if there is slim chance of rain anywhere near us - they will predict rain on these other sites. If it does rain, usually it is late in the day and short lived. However at times a system will roll through and we will see more then normal.

We can't predict what will happen! You can't predict either. Stop reading those weather sites. You booked your holiday just plan to come on down and have a great time. Bring a small umbrella, good shoes, sun screen and mosquitto repellant and you will be fine!

I am going to Puerto Plata this Wednesday, the 14th. Does anyone know if there has been damage to the Riu Merengue hotel or surrounding area? Is it going to be a problem trying to travel between Puerto Plata and Santiago?

Monday November 12

Good morning, our sunny blue skies are back again! We had good weather yesterday up until late afternoon. The skies opened up and I swear they stayed open until 6 this morning! We had lots of rain over night.

It looks great here now. IT is 84F with a very light breeze. Make sure to wear your sunscreen!

While I woke to sunny skies, the sun soon disappeared behind the clouds. then it came back, then it disappeared..... You get the idea. We have a mixed bag of sun, clouds, rain, a bit of a breeze.... I am sure this will continue all day.

Hi sorry to be a pain but when we come over we are going to bring things for the children, where do we go to give them to them or will we just see children in the streets hope you don't mind me asking i do know this is for weather but just want to be sure the children get them.

Wednesday November 14

Good morning, well the bad news is we are expecting another 3 days or so of not so nice weather. Nothing like a tropical storm, just 3 days of overcast, showery weather. The good news is that it cools off at night so it is wonderful for sleeping. We will have some sunny periods - don't worry. Even when it is cloudy - don't forget your sunscreen.

Today we are overcast, no rain at the moment, 80 F and no breeze at all. Looking out the window I can see patches of blue sky so maybe it will clear somewhat.

Friday November 16

Good morning, we have a fabulous day again - bright blue skies, 82F and a light breeze - it is perfect. Yesterday was just as nice! We had sunny skies all day, the evening cooled off nicely and it was perfect.

Hopefully it will stay this nice the whole weekend!

REQUEST - anyone coming down to Puerto Plata area soon - the weather girl needs a thermometer for her front patio! Thanks in advance.

Monday November 19

Good morning - how many different ways can I say - crappy, yucky rainy weather??? That pretty much sums up our weekend.

Friday night it rained. After dancing all evening I went out to my car to find a flat tire! And of course it was pouring rain.

Saturday - rain. went to get my car and repair not one but two flat tires - pouring rain. Saturday evening RAIN.

Sunday morning - more rain. Sunday afternoon a couple of sunny breaks. Sunday evening - some rain but not a lot.

Monday morning - yup you guessed it - rain. We are currently under cloudy skies but it is not actually raining - well at the moment anyway. I am pretty sure we will get a bit more.

Cross your fingers this passes soon! The good news - it is warm rain.....

Good morning, the rains returned last evening and it was WET....

Today we are partly overcast, dreary - actually it feels like fall. Except it is 79 F...... bit of a difference. WE gave almost no breeze at all and it is very humid.

Just goes to show you that those satellites can be wrong.... We had some nice sunny skies yesterday afternoon, but we are back to clouded over this morning. We had rain overnight and rain this morning. It is raining right now and I hope it will quit soon.

Everyone cross your fingers that the good weather returns. But, here is the good news - it is still 80 F!

Do you have any forecasts for next week yet as we are flying in on Monday for 2 weeks holiday from the UK. This will be my 4th visit so I am well aware how varied and changeable the weather is for DR!!! This time last year we had amazing weather for the 2 weeks we stayed! Especially the evening thunder storms.. awesome, and we had a very close lightening strike whilst having dinner one night!!

Sorry I have no forecasts for those 2 weeks. All of those are online and I pay absolutely no attention to them.

Here is my scientific reporting method. I open the door and step outside. If I get wet - it is raining. If my hair heats up and my eyes get all squinty - it is sunny. If my hair blows around - yup it is windy. IF I got woke up at night to the sound of rain - yup it rained over night.....

Update - a little while ago I had to step outside the office for a few minutes. My hair got wet - so, it is raining......

Last year we had the most incredible November I can remember. It was hot and sunny almost all month. Please bring that back when you return to visit.

And please bring some school supplies for the kids!

Maybe I'm a good omen, both Novembers I have been to DR have been amazing. Last year and 2000. Not too concerned as long as I when i get back to cold England I look like I have been on holiday!! :)

Happy Thankdsgiving to all our American friends!

In honour of thanksgiving we have some sunshine today! Yeah. we will take what we can get at the moment and any excuse works for me.

Today we have partly sunny skies, a light breeze, 82 F and it is humid. A rain shower or two would not surprise me today but I hope it holds off.

Gazman - if you are responsible for nice weather in November we will invite you back every single year. Hurry up and get here please!

Did you get a thermometer yet? If not I'm looking for another stocking stuffer for you. Mrs Santa Claus arrives Tuesday at 3 p.m. Should get to the hotel around 5 pm.,
