We’re in the same boat. Getting older, daughter telling us to sell now, son always worried about us when we’re here. He was sure we’d be robbed or killed.
Well son came down for a week, first time in DR in 17 years. He got up and walked down to the beach for a swim every morning, loved the fruit trees, loved being here, wants to build a guest house for his family on the rear 9 tareas of our land. Now says we should be here longer than 3-4 months, that we have the perfect life, etc. Says don’t sell, he will manage everything when we’re gone (he’s fluent in Spanish). To say this has been surprising is an understatement.
First week here, a medical group offered to buy our house, pretty much full asking price. Everyone says we were nuts, but we said no. Not selling now. Time will tell if we made a mistake.
Lindsey, you just need the right buyer to see your beautiful home
