Do any of you know of any popular Dominican Reggaet?n stars? I've noticed that as Reggaet?n has hit the mainland U.S. mainstream, most of the genre's fomented stars have been Puerto Rican, (Although there are some Panamanian Reggaet?n artists, where the genre had some of its beginnings) but there must be some Dominican Reggaet?n artists, since it is PR's closest neighbor and Boricua Reggaet?n artists routinely perform there. (And get banned from there, such as Don Omar, lol)

Yes, we have some of thems, last week was a performance of regeaton here including Dominicans and Puertoricans, I don't know the Dominican by names but the one I hear is Don Miguelo, he is a young boy from el cibao and sing La Pasola, I like it a lot.

The song by Don Miguelo is called la cola de motora. He did a new one and just changed the lyrics called la cola de camiona. It is very funny.

Luny Tunes

LunyTunes are from the DR and they come out in the Mas Flow 2 CD. They are some of the best producers in reggeaton.

Vico C (one of the true founders of regggaeton is half Puerto Rican and Half Dominican as well as many other stars on the rise. Also many bachateros and merengueros are including this catching rhythm in their work.

Actually any body who's anybody in Reggeaton has worked with Luny Tunes.
I remember them being on La Mega in NYC as far back as 8-10 years ago. Working the underground scene.

Yes some BACHATA & MERENGUE ARTIST are jumping on the wagon which I think is rediculous because it is not their genre, they are just wanting to go with what's popular...PLUS this music been on the scene, underground that is, for forever

en mi opinion (dont you all pounce on me cuz it seems you are all fond of this music) REGGEATON SUCKS!!!!! :devious: so bachateros & merengueros get off the damn wagon...

reggaeton is trash. I used to like it before, when it first came out, but it got old real quick. The same beat all the time, the same " bellaqueria s@&%t " all the time, it just got corny. Merengue and bachata is always on top for me. merengue and bachata forever !

Don't fret reggeton will be a thing of the past...

in another year or so...that same beat duplicated for every song will tire out, and all of you know que Puerto Ricans saturate everything, just like they did with there bomba style merengue...that music can only survive for so long...before it sticks badly between your ears and makes you sick to your stomach after seeing one hundred artist from P.R. do the same thing and play the same damm beat over and over again...and evidently the dancing part of it will become one big strip show, that will get a couple of clubs in trouble! you see I was more attracted to El Generals reggae because they were almost traditional beats with a jamaican groove to it, Daddy Yankee will get his Grammy, and other music awards and become rich, but it will end where it was started....underground with nothing else more to sound like or say!...just like punta, or vallenato, Samba, and the vida loca!

El General all the way.. though there are some good reggeaton artists Luny Tunes and also Tego Calderon.. I still think it will hold its own as a musical style though mainstream attention might drop off..

But the dancing will ensure its place in the disco's :lick:

I agree to certain point...

I know that the merengue bomba us Puerto Ricans took it and made it look like it was all the same and maybe people got bored with it, but at the same time we made merengue more popular than any other merengue players have. We won a bunch of premio lo nuestro, latin gramys and not only that but if u put attention to the words of the puertorican merengue bomba is more about love, gurls beauty, and stuff like that not like LA VACA or LA POPOLA u see the difference?
About reaeggeton... its a combination of Jamaican reaegge and puerto rican flava ;) ... Same here we are the best at it... we invented reaggeton and we have take it to every corner of the world inch by inch u cant say no about it... This is for daddy1
