Rocky's Bar Used To Be Oasis Cafe

I had a very bad experience with Rocky's Bar.

I personally believe he mistreated due to the color my skin.

I have good friends of mine who are white, latin, black and asian.

I told him and he brushed it off. His staff didn't even replace the bathroom essentials daily. I had to complain.
He hides his racism very well.

As a business owner, he should have offered me to come bak and make it up but he didn't even acknowledge my complaints.

He made it very clear I was not welcomed at his business. I posted my experience at other webistes that are mindful of racism abroad.

Cry me a river, Rick is the most gracious host on the North Coast, I stayed in his condo a few months ago, and he bent over backwards to make sure I had 24/7 internet in my apt, extra towels, and a beautiful Mocana on each arm for the duration of my trip.

Dominicans might be skin color conscious but Rockys clients are mostly not Dominican, they are tourists, visitors and ex-pats of all nationalities, races and backgrounds, and my experience is that they could care or less what is the color of the skin of the staff working there. Your comments are totally without substance.

There have been trolls and sock puppets in the past who have tried to affect Rockys success with their meaningless posts. Your unfounded allegations will have no affect on Ricks business so save yourself some time and crawl back under your rock now.

Ever consider maybe it was your actions or attitude that might be cause for your supposed unwelcomeness at Rockys, and not your skin color?????

And I was in a couple situations in Sosua where American blacks exhibited reverse racism towards me.

One example, which really ****ed me off, was arriving in Sosua on my first day, going to the Orange store, and a group American blacks laughing out loud at me for speaking Spanish with the Orange agent.

"Ha ha ha!!!!!" White boy trying to speak Spanish!!!!!!" WTF is so FUNNY about that????? Even if my Spanish isn't perfect?????

And why did they have to bring up skin color????????

Before you throw a loaded word like racist around perhaps you should examine the circumstances. If you feel you received bad service than you have a right to complain. You don't have a right to shout racism on the basis of one incident. I travel to Sosua quite often as do many of my friends and acquaintances, We are of all colors, races and ethnicities. Rick has treated all of us with respect and provided excellent service.
Sure he may run out of ribs sometimes but never in all the years has there been a hint of racism.
However like many of us I am sure that Rick does not like everybody. Doesn't make him racist, it does make him human.
And just for the record I am a Black male that lived through the 60's and I know racism when I see it.
