Rye Bread

Just go to a National in Santiago ,,several kinds of rye always in stock,,,,,,,,

What Nacional there are you talking about? I always look for rye bread when there.
Once in awhile they have rye bread from their bakery but it is not like the typical Jewish rye.

I've found Pan de Centeno in Jumbo Puerto Plata. sliced and bagged like white bread. Northern European rye bread is made with a sour mix which gives it the flavor we know and love. The Jumbo bread was made with rye flour, but without the sour. I'm not recommending it.

Yes. That is what I am talking about that Nacional has at times. It definitely has a different flavor.

Yes, the rye bread I grew up with my family baking had a sour dough flavor. It was excellent and I understand why people miss it.

I've seen shelf after shelf of all kinds of Integral and Wheat bread at JUMBO/NACIONAL (Only 1 or 2 made with 100% whole wheat flour, BTW) but I've only seen it for sale in the bakery on a few occasions (Pan de Centano) and not that good.

I'm using Instacart from Publix in Miami via BM Cargo. I would check Publix or another supermarket close to your shipper. Yes it's expensive that way but I only use it for shit I can't get here.

I've only done it twice now but very happy with the results.
