It has been a few years (looking at the dates the last time was in 2022) the last time I was there I visited Meringue every evening for a drink - had the place to myself mostly, almost nobody came in. The disco upstairs (classicos?) was closed. Has it ever reopened? The place was a shadow of itself from when I had first visited.
That place was crowded every night a few years ago. It made a lot of money for employees.

Has any work been done of the plaza that's going to be on the El Batey end of Sosua Beach? I think you need to add a couple more years for that one.

Now back to the beach. Do we have about a year or so more for the plazas to be done?
I was told back in Feb. by a friend/ business owner on the beach, the consensus among the vendors seems to be they have at least one year to continue operating on the beach. When asked about the plaza's being completed/ opened for business none of them seem to have a clue.

I'm starting to think they may not take all of the shacks away once the plaza's are complete. The reason I say this because after all this back and forth there is no clear plan or timeline confirmed by the government.

Post #1769 is about the El Batey side... so the answer would be yes... ;)

Regarding the local government, I think Willy is going to continue playing both sides of the coin for as long as he can. It's no secret he just poured a ton of money into re-doing the biggest club on PC which will cater to the exact same crowd (mongers and prostitutes) Toursim Minister David Collado and several local community organizations want to get rid of.

How all of this pans out will be very interesting over the next couple of years because according to the most recent poll numbers, Mr. Collado is favored to be our next President in 2028.

With this in mind, judging by his past comments, I'd say Sosua as we've always known it will eventually come to an end if/ when he gets into office.
The Night life in Sosua is dead ,that ship sailed long ago even for every one, in the old days sosua was a party town chicas were well behaved sort of just saying

Maybe, but I think you're giving them way too much credit.
Most of them are copycats who see some guy talking about how he is able to pay for his 'trips' with his channel and videos and then come and do the creepcam thing and sometimes end up like that guy who was begging for 'donations' to get back to the US because he missed his flight.

Or the Muppets posting on social media found out they would be banned from entering the DR and wisely decided to go dark.
I doubt they ever worried about that stupid is stupid… seems the problem has self extinguished itself , what the government has been trying for yrs , did it on its own:) As North coast said you will never get rid of it in DR but the vibe in area is much different from before the mongering website is done for long time proof is on streets a shadow of itself..something is changing why no clue
just that it is and government isn’t involved!
