......And did not Tony Roma's also have a short stay in Palma Real?

The whole mall is in the process of being converted into the new Katmandu amusement park. Not sure if Tony Romas closed due to over priced mediocre food or their lease was not renewed. Either way I do not miss them.

TR was open about 3 or 4 years. They closed a long time ago due to lack of business. Nothing to do with a lease.............

So it was over priced mediocre food with horrible service.
Hard to believe that would cause them to close down :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
The food was just ok...........did a one and done some years ago.

Hard to survive on the residents alone and certainly difficult in the land of all you can eat AI's. For whatever reason, the mall never quite gained the traction/traffic it needed to sustain either.

I hate to pop your balloon but Tony Roma's has nothing to do with Outback.

I think I saw one at Downtown Center too???

We only drink black espresso, and our favorite beans are Starbucks. We brought 5 pounds with us and everyone likes it, but it’s stronger than local espresso
That was the first one in the DR. lol

Have you tried the Cafe Santo Domingo expresso? White bag with black lettering.

First off the 90 or so AI's will do nothing for this place. No one is interested to take a $50 or more taxi ride to get a $10 Cup of coffee at Starbucks. They can get it where they came from.

Bottom line is if they don't have a predominantly Dominican clientele they will not do well. Not enough dumb Gringos here to bother with this place. And the vast majority of "Gringos" are NOT Americans here...................

in Mexico, we're called "gabachos"

what's the word in Dominican Spanish?

Mortons was the only chain that served a great steak - but it came at the price of the whole cow.
Ruth Chris was hit and miss.
But you can find a lot of good steak joints in Texas if you fly out of DR like:

Smith and Wollensky and Taste of Texas are great in Houston, or Al Biernat's in Dallas.
I hear Shula's Steakhouse in Miami is good too ?

I used to eat regularly at the House of Prime Rib when I lived in San Francisco - but brought my own horseradish because a prime rib without Atomic Brand Horseradish is just a crying shame.

Nowadays I just go for the 1300 peso churrasco at Charli's in Sosua - It's not a juicy prime rib by any stretch, but it is good. They just don't serve Chimichurri sauce. :(. But I use the A1 - as it is a dependable flavor.

Do any stores sell a decent chimichurri ?

Dude, make your own. Olive oil, garlic, parsley.

And why are you even mentioning Texas/Miami??
