PUERTO PLATA: Swiss tourist found dead in a hotel in Sosúa

PUERTO PLATA.- The authorities are investigating the strange death of a Swiss tourist, whose corpse was found rotten inside a room in a hotel in the tourist town of Sosúa.

He was identified as Gähles Thomas, 35, who arrived in the country on January 31 and was a native of the city of St. Gallen, which is the economic and cultural center of the eastern region of Switzerland.

Thomas was found under one of the beds in the room where he was staying, with the sleeve of a sweater tied around his neck and it is speculated that he may have committed suicide.

Police officers, a prosecutor and the medical examiner appeared at the scene, who certified that the foreigner was approximately 72 hours dead, for which the lifeless body was sent to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) to perform an autopsy.

Hasn't been here long - Jan 31.....
Casa marina has lots of security camera ..and guards.. not to mention the maids check the rooms every day...not a easy place to get in and out of unnoticed... have sayed there a number of times, now I better check under the bed, maybe a employee helped with the suicide?

Very sad to die alone far away from your country, this way.

Poison can present signs of violence to your body and then push you under the bed?
Absolutely.
Agony in a psychotic mania state but no one pushes anyone,
You are alone. Poisons can be very painful.
Look at death penalty states and their efforts to find an effective easy method of chemical executions and they have the advantage of being IV route.
Ingesting a lethal poison is not a quiet, easy way to depart.
A final blessing to a life well lived is a quiet departure while asleep from a bout of atrial fib at age 100, ok, 110.

Strangled himself with his own sweater and under a bed?
Bizarre form of suicide.
Yes, zoomzx11 will likely respond that this frequently happens as you are retching in the death pangs of a poison inflicted suicide that you tie things around your neck while ending up under a bed. After you have sufficiently bruised up your body, of course. (And Jeffrey Epstein didn't' commit suicide.)

We can assume this was just an innocent tourist killed for no reason.....
or one who committed suicide for reasons of his own

Or he was killed for some reason.

NALS should run a poll..............

In the big picture considering that Sosua is a vice town it is still unusual that someone commits suicide or is a victim of homicide. Whether it was a case of autoerotic asphyxiation or a homicide it is still sad news ! RIP young man.
