Yes, but this thread is about Sosua, Cabanas are all over the island further bolstering my point, try to keep up.
No, the fact that prostitution is everywhere is not the point. The point is the internet coverage the prostitution in Sosua has gotten via the internet is the problem. The cabanas are not a concern of the people that run the country, but the notoriety by numb skulls that visit Sosua has become a problem.

Using the words "whore monger" is stupid. The only required word is monger. Saying whore monger is superfluous and redundant.

It's mostly used by people you really have no real knowledge on the subject either. They just like typing the two words together for some weird dumb effect.

Just wondering.. Is "Sex Tourist " or "man that cant get any at home and has to travel and pay for it" acceptable? How about "Old pervert that wants to relive his adolescence"?? I'm not a politically correct person, and want to make sure I know what is an acceptable label for old guys looking to pay young girls for sex in a third world country to make them feel like a stud again..

How about a realist? He knows that there is no other way it would be remotely possible.

it certainly is not for everyone. Some like to stay with the same woman for their entire lives, paying all there credit card bills buying them an expensive vehicle and house and believing the woman would stay with them if they stopped supporting her. Sosua is a fantasy for sure but its not for everyone. Usually the bitter and unhappy throw barbs at the gentleman who visit Sosua, even though they do not harm or bother them.

I've been saying that for years. Locals have never been a "play and brag about it" group; they've always been discreet about it.

They have adapted to the new order of things since the internet ruined what they already had.

Yes the biggest tricks are husbands and then after he does all that she divorces the poor sap and he has to give her half of everything plus his retirement. I'm sorry but I like my money and I love hot women in their twenties.

huh, Nobody said it was a problem. Its big business here. Many make a good living offering quickie rooms along with selling drinks to hourly customers. Its a great service and yes they are in every single town on this island
Yes! In an effort to clean up the look of Sosua there is one that is being done by Martha Stewart. IDK, but might be catering to the sophisticated woman. "Women's Lives Matter" is their mantra. Hey, the world is still turning. . . around.

So a fish monger and a whore monger are the same thing? Who knew.

I will go with whore monger for those in Sosua who are whore mongers. Works for me.

Sure,. and while we are at it ,
What do we call the WOMEN who travel specifically to pay young Haitian and Dominican boys less than half their Age to take care of their " Needs" ??

Oh, we already know . they like to be called " Romance Travelers "

I'm guessing most of you don't have the Balls to touch that one .
The ones from Canada are frequently referred to as "whales" (ballenas). How is that for a light "touch"?

The definition of monger does not carry within it the implication of involvement with prostitutes. Adding the word whore in front of monger is a much needed clarification to those who allegedly can save Sosua.

If there are 500 whore mongers in Sosua, as someone above mentioned, spending a total of $750,000 US per month as another mentioned above, that would be a measly $50 a day per whore monger. At total that is currently about 43,500,000 pesos. 4,350 people could get 10,000 pesos per month if all of that money trickled down to them.

Let us say the mongers on average spent 4 times that amount, $200 each and every day year round, that would mean 17,400 people could eat rice and beans off that money. Yet there are 50,000 to 60,000 people in Sosua.

To save even a third of Sosua so they had enough money to just barely live at $10,000 RD per month, 500 mongers would have to spend $200 US daily every day of the year just so that 17,400 people could just barely survive. Surely there must be far more than only 500 wore mongers in Sosua year round?

Could those whore mongers save one part of Pedro Clisante with that money? Sure, no problem.

Although my reply was meant for the guy giving out proper vocabulary lessons, I'll bite.. Hmmmm I guess something in my reply hit home with you considering your need to lash out in defense..

I understand that the men who visit Sosewer for prostitutes seem to all have the need to justify their sex tourism activities. I have no problem with it. If a guy or woman for that matter is willing to go to the expense of travelling in order to fulfill their sexual desires and accept the risks, then so be it.

Some say as you just did that many prefer the rental program to ownership. I get it, but as is the problem with anything rented is that it's usually very used, pretty dirty, and sometimes even icky. Some don't mind paying good money to have their turn with these people, but others are repulsed by the idea of having sex with a person who would spread out for anyone if they have the pesos. Sosua chicas are nothing more than a rented "masturbation station". Pay for that? You go ahead.. I'll take a pass..

If Prostitution is legal. How to you clean up a legal business ❓

I do not agree with the opinions of many of the closed minded that I have read in this thread. I happen to be open minded.

A husband just puts his wife on retainer. It is about access. Sometimes access gets denied. And they are still under contract. Sometimes access is given to others when the husband thought they had exclusive access. That is the worst deal of all. Someone else get to enjoy what they are maintaining. You cannot own anyone legally anymore. So every female grants access on her terms. How about that for some reality?

Prostitution in general is no different from marriage. Only the amount of time access is granted and the type of contract involved.

There are a lot of dirty dangerous businesses out there that we all benefit from. Anyone been in a coal mine lately? But yet somehow that is ok and considered honorable work.

The question for me is does Sosua even need to be cleaned up and why❓If it does, to the benefit of whom❓

When in doubt, follow the money.

I enjoy Sosua for sure. I drive over once a week, at least. No apologies! I mind my own business. I don't cast aspersions on men who stay in a dead end relationship with a woman for decades out of fear and because its a "routine". They pay their bills for decades cars, cloths, jewelry and a house and believe its true love. Different strokes! If one makes a decision is to stay with the same person and grow old together even when the woman changes over time becoming an angry demanding witch that has let her self go, have at it. Sosua offers a product and will in the foreseeable future. FYI even state side woman often "upgrade" after finding a gentleman with a personality, a good sense of humor and bigger cash.

your relentless disdain for men who frequent Sosua and the ladies is strange considering you live in the region. It also limits the people you can associate with if you choose to disparage them. When I go into Janets Supermarket for lunch guess where I have seen all the gentleman and ladies the night before. SOSUA!!
