We seem to be down to only one "nothing will change , or if it does it will change back" person posting. Where did they all go?

Did the macho men go off in a group to Thailand?

Oh yea big changes, and every other weekend when I go over to Sosua its packed with chicas, they come from Sosua, Santo Domingo, Santiago etc. They are in every restaurant/bar, from the beach stands to the top line restaurants. When I go down to the beach I see ZERO gringo families. They closed a few bars and are building a few hotels, POOF , now its supposed to be Bermuda, lol

The way I see it, from the outside ------- as I will probably never set foot in sosua ------ , is a bunch of people who set up shop in a whore town and now want to get rid of the whores !!!!!!!
Wishful thinking, if you ask me !

IF, and it is a big, big if, the powers to be wanted to rid sosua of it's filthy reputation, they would go after the mongers and not the whores. Local economy dictates that if there is demand, there will be product.

But perhaps there is a real plan for sosua to transform it into a " normal" touristy destination......... that would only take about a decade........ make that 2 decades in the dr....... and 3 on the north coast lol.....

That grand plan will fly just about as far as a gazillion other dominican plans......ie revista, helmets, drinkable water, digital government, etc........

You can't be understanding what's about to happen. They're not coming in with just a fresh coat of paint on everything. Everything you see right now on Sosua Beach will be gone. It's about to be wiped clean of all traces of it's current state.

For those of you who say its not possible I can tell you, it is very possible
especially if this investment is coming from the Chinese.

I hope its not and for those of you who enjoy the shady trees and cheap bars...
ya'd better hope its not either as the Chinese do things at break neck speed
and could care less about who is effected by the over night changes.

Now if we can remove half the tigres on Motos doing wheelies on Pedro Clisante, then the families can enjoy a sidewalk table at a cafe

Journalist reporting from todays event in Sosua

https://youtu.be/gchCb4BcXXM

Wow!
Folks can say what they want about things staying the same
but clearly some people are fed up with bad press and negative
image of Sosua constantly being broadcast across the world on
platforms like youtube and facebook..

Like everything else in most developing countries..
Its tolerated until it is abused.

I still say this is not about vice or morals.

They want an empty town and a clean slate to bring in the big, freshly polished bucks and line a lot of pockets..
The Juan Dolio of the North..or Playa Blanca of the DR..

No poor shop worker or restaurant worker has a say, let alone a street worker..
