As it may be true, the rest of the country is not far behind.
For decades ( ok, let's say 3 ) , abroad, dominicanas = putas, dominicanos = low level drug dealers.
For decades, dominican republic = easy girls.
For decades dominican politicos = corrupt greedy thugs in the pockets of the narcos.
And " they" think cleaning up 2 whore towns is going to turn everything round ?
" They" need a reality check.

I think they've opted for the "out of sight, out of mind" approach.
Letting all of those establishments reopen 6 or 7 blocks down the
road will probably work until the bigwigs down in the Capital decide
its not working.
I am in Sosua at least every other weekend solo or with colleagues.Ghost town? Nope!

Kings Restaurant will be back open 2 blocks down closer to the beach

Have you been this past 9 days ? It's gotten a lot of the Spandex Queens and their entourage-boyz (Most are actually middle age men) of Pedro Clisante. Yes thre will be pain to some businesses but imagine coming for coffee or a dinner and not being assaulted by the freak shows, which you can sample on You Tube.
Quieter is nicer.
Actually I really enjoyed the show! Sitting down at Cafe Cubano, getting a cappuccino and the chocolate cake and just watching the "Spandex Queens" play the broskies and making them think they're all Denzel Washingtons, and the broskies actually believing it. Great show!
Willie is a wanker no hope of winning he ranted 1/2hr incoherently on national news even journalist looked puzzled when he lost last time ..
I've read somewhere this time around PLD won't have a candidate, so Willie it will be. And many believe he won last time too, but sold it to PLD. I remember he was saying they stole it from him and his supports were out on the streets, then Willie went to SD and when he came back he told his people to relax, and bought a new Lexus SUV. The word was he got 30 million pesos.
I believe this..... Willie told me he won it last time and PLD knew it.
Willie will be mayor for 8 yrs and become wealthy.
He's building a huge Disco/Coliseo Gallistico/Restaurant/Rooms establishment in P. Plata which I'd say will be generating a nice income for him. Plus he's in charge of the casino, and casinos are useful for all sorts of things. And yes he did win last time, but Santo Domingo prevented him from taking the office, and he got paid to "relax". And this time around if he wants it he'll get it. The PLD nomination first wanted it some guy who owns an armeria but then his business got shut down for irregularities, then Oscar wanted it but SD told him to stand down, then it was gonna be Vladimir again but he's a declared Leonelista so who knows. Actually maybe lifeisgreat does? He seems to know everything.

not she could confirm or deny the rumors about
the Chinese investing. Her response was "it would
be really good to receive that type of investment."
In other words, Sosua is clearly for sale and they
don't care who the buyers are. One thing she
says repeatedly is they want to change the image
of Sosua and by image... judging by which businesses
were shut down vs. which businesses were allowed
to stay open... I think its quite apparent, in the eyes
of the local government, some folks have worn out their welcome.
