Close the newly opened bars in PC again due to COVID-19 ??? :alien:

And the new Marriott hotel that should have opened by now, or early april.

Any news?

This will hit the wallets hard, people will suffer more.

I feel with the workers and the restaurant owners:hurt:

As for the Marriott Beach Club in Sosua, I spoke to a man who is working on the construction. He told me it would be open by "high season".. CV-19 could delay that.

A friend on the North Coast reports that the people appear to be obeying the quarantine and curfew orders. Streets and beaches are largely deserted, hotels mostly closed, but food is not as scarce as some were concerned about. How long it will hold is anyone's guess.

The future of Sosua is December 2020 - It sure isn't the next 8 months, as things will be slower than the snails crawling up my garden wall.

Not much traffic. The beach is a great place to enjoy by yourself and the dogs.
Having to prepare my own meals is a drag, but i am saving a lot of money by not hitting the town every other day for a beer and tacos and the accompanying tips.

I have noticed a lot of motoconcho drivers standing around the ATMs saying "I hungry". Well I can feel your pain but if I gave money to all 8 of them the other day I would be hungry too. I do feel for those guys, and I hope the guy financing their motos gives them slack on payments. But I am helping a couple families with children.

As for food - when the DR Government doesn't provide handouts things might get rougher, although I have not seen them personally distributing food.

Out of complete and utter boredom we drove from POP to Sosua today. Said hello (at a safe distance) to a few friends, great to see them and then drove back.
The streets were empty and everything except a few Colmados was closed, including Playero.
I will be sure to frequent many businesses both in POP and Sosua once this house arrest is over.

P.S. We were back in the house with plenty of time to spare. I didn't want a flat tire or other issue to have me concerned about being out past curfew.

The government has been giving out food at least in Jamao. It was distributed to the pastors and priests and they distributed it to the people.

Some of our communities are far off the main road where even a car cannot go. A friend dropped off food packets in those communities, riding on his 4 wheeler. The residents had no idea there was a pandemic going on and lockdowns here.

So the girls are no longer an an issue?

Saw one chica on the back of a moto patrolling the streets looking around, saw her in several streets in Batey, then on the way back home I saw the police pulling her & her moto driver over to have a chat and neither had masks on but the police did.

I think the mongers, who might risk VD, won't risk the Wuhan virus. Certainly Viagra and condom sales must have hit bottom.

Well, the mayor finally got rid of prostitution after8 yrs.

Yeagh,
And it only took her getting beaten out of office by Willy, + a Global Virus Pandemic to do it ..

Quite the accomplishment .. but it would not surprise me if she takes credit for it .
