No problems around here that I've seen.
We did not get whacked like the rest of the country.
Some low lying areas might have flooding, like they had in Montellano, maybe the Tablon, maybe in La Maranatha too, but haven't heard anything.

Still raining then? Has the wind died down at all? You're up and about early this morning!
Yes, I forgot to cancel the wake-up call. So much for our lie-in :) Also, the time-stamp on DR1 posts is one hour behind the actual time. It appears to have gone on to daylight saving time together with the US.

Lol - is it not just after 8am there then? I thought that was right as our clocks changed on Sunday and before that you were 5 hours behind, I thought you were now only 4 hours behind (its 12:10pm here).

If you go to "User CP" near the top of the page, then to "Edit Options", you will find an option near the bottom of the page to turn off the DST feature.

I'm in the Nu?ez de Caceres / Independencia area, and this morning traveled to J.F. Kennedy/Lopez de Vega. Almost no traffic, lots of branches on the streets, a car under a tree, CDDE sign almost down...etc...

Good Morning All,

I hope everyone is recovering from the awful rains and winds. I'm looking to find out if Orange is up and running. I can't seem to contact people who live in POP (north east) . Any news if services are down and if so does anyone have an idea as to when they might be back up? I realize that this is a loaded question but any info would be appreciated.
Thanks a Bunch

traveling to Punta Cana

Hi, first my thoughts and prayers go out to all of you and your families. We are set to leave Thurs to go to Punta Cana to the Iberostar Bavarro. Are the roads still working and do you think it is safe to come? Thanks for any input

I?m in Las Galeras, and trying to get to Santo Domingo by Thursday by car. Anyone know the state of the roads and whether ʹd be better off leaving today or tomorrow? By the way, despite being gray and rainy, the Samana peninsula has been relatively free of harm.
