The Dominican People, {generalising} and much of the world over have lost its identity. People don't like or want to assume themselves associated with or connected with rejection, failure, backwardness or desolation. And out of fear don't want to be singled out or prejudiced against
The American Culture concept is like a campaign as being the world leader in civilization and development. Therefore, many will embrace and promote the american structure, and vehemently deny thier own. And what you deny you can't confront.
Growing up I readily embraced it until I become more knowledgeable about it. I found that the American Culture seemingly represented liberation (to do whatever want), inspire rebellion (there were freedom you wanted to aspire to) and opportunity (most likely to make success overnight). I find the american culture, for those outside, appeal more to dreamers, and those who felt rejected, have failure, oppressed or something along this line.
In the process of denial of who you are to an extended, you traded in who you are to be for someone else, or to be like someone else. But if you'd be someone else, or like someone else, then who will be you?
There is a uniqueness to everyone, and with time, chance and opportunty comes to everyone, but so many jump on the campaign to join superiority, that they have give or lose thier power of supreme or sovereignty so as to become dependent on someone else --- waiting to be ordered or to be led. Look at the Icons oriented people in this aspect: When Paris Hilton change here style, this is what some will do also. This is a form of inferiority complex that make people misfits. And people just want a place to belong! These people have never fitted into their culture (eventhough they may have been accepted), and I'm not certain that they wanted to either.
This just doesn't happen where exported commercialize culture is concern, but also in the midst of society. In the same way the american culture is consider by many to have a more appealing value, those in the community on the superior enclaves dictate to those below what is acceptable and what is now in fashion. The rich nation thrives from the poorer ones, and the well to do in the community thrives from the ones whom need to be led.
The leading positions only need to convince the mass or the market that they are in need or have a problem, and they likely have a solution or can benifit from an implementation. Ofcourse usually times this have been beguiled information. How many times, have those commercials appeal to you that it is it going to benifit you in some way or form, but later there is something more appealing?
Take for instance those weight loss program. There would be medical specialist to say all the nice things about the program, then later, you would hear a new realise of something else that people are chasing or rumors of
lawsuits or products being pull from the market due to it not performing within its capacity. Misinformation have been the mode of transmission to feed the mass and the minority days of old
