Can anybody tell me if there's a company in Santo Domingo (or Santiago) which does web-hosting for a good price. I'm thinking of sites from 10mb to 250mb.
Thanks for your help.

Why does it matter where the hosting is from? I use US based hosting companies for sites I work on in the DR. Just FTP your site files and you're done.

I also use hosting companies in the U.S. It's hard to beat the prices that U.S. companies charge - they keep it real low because of the volume. I somehow cannot imagine a DR company competing with hosting infrastructure, automated processes and server sizes, speed and availability of technology.

If you send me an e-mail, I'll let you have details of two companies that I use.

ACTUALLY I FOUND A COUPLE OF COMPANIES THE infrastructure IN THE IT COMMUNITY IS NOT THAT EXPENSIVE AND AS TIME PASS THE DR WILL BECOME MORE AND MORE TECHNOLOGICAL AND THE DEMAND WILL INCREASE DRAMATICALLY, MANY INTERNATIONAL COMPANIES LOOK FOR WEBSERVICES IN OTHER COUNTRIES TO SCAPE FROM RULES AND REGULATION OF THEIR NATIVE LAND.

You know some might want to be off shore for other reasons and not because they are selling illegal items. Some might want to do it for tax reasons. A website in a certain country might be enough of a presence to be taxed by that country. I have read about huge cyber parks that are going after that market in Panama, because of Panama's tax policy

Hahahaha - good catch!

Or sitepoint did the dirty deed and stole from them! Who cares about some DR site anyway

More seriously, these folks may be excellent web hosts but I'm not fluent enough in Spanish geek speek to be able to deal with a Spanish host.

I hope I'm still on the point here - does anyone know of a DR e-commerce provider that would set up the infrastructure and clear credit card payments?

web hosting or colocation?

Do you want the hardware (servers) to be in the DR, or just the customer service?

I've been wondering about DR colocation facilities. I currently have a half-rack in San Francisco that I want to move offshores for tax purposes, but I am a bit worried about connectivity issues and uptime.
